She can hear her heart race in the seconds leading to Takumi's reply. Harmony braces herself for possible rejection. There was always that chance to be accepted but she always had those terrible doubts that haunt her. Perhaps Harmony should explain her reasoning? It isn't for fame or money. Yes, those are nice to have, but it's not really her desire. She enjoys seeing Takumi and his team, always has an interest in the paranormal, and she also has a soft spot for the souls who are trapped. Maybe she should tell him what she can do for them.

She thought about being an assistant investigator, technical assistant, analyst, or even a field medic with her knowledge in her training for nursing. Harmony will do anything to join!

Then, Takumi gives his answer.

"I appreciate the sentiment."

Her heart sinks ever so slightly. The light of hope in her eyes dims from those words. It sounds like he may reject the offer, but then he adds the condition of tests.

Tests? So, that's not a yes, but not a no either. So, there is a chance! That made the woman hesitate a bit, but she is never one to back down. This could be her only chance, after all! Finally, she nods, wanting to give it her very best.

"Okay, what kind of tests?"

“Is that supposed to be some weird pick up line?” – she looked at Takumi; her blue eyes wide open showing some curiosity but also some disbelief...? Nunnally was not sure how to behave. She tried not to look around too nervously not to scare that dead guy that presumably was there. But she could not help it but to look around. As expected, she didn’t notice anything suspicious. Well, obviously apart from the man with the buzzing apparatus. He was not insane, was he?

“Am I doing…all right? Is he still there?” – she whispered now more concerned than before; shall she pretend she could see “the dead guy” to satisfy white-haired man? Or perhaps there was something and she was simply not aware of its existence. She was not sure. She was starting to get scared. Nunnally shivered slightly, completely confused of what was going on. Perhaps the best idea would be just to leave? But then she started to think that the situation was quite ridiculous. It brought a small smile on her lips and she asked: --

“So, what shall I do now? May I assist you anyhow?”

"But if you just want to ask me for a date, it's better to do it now. You already piqued my curiosity enough for me to consider saying yes." - was she too bold now?

 made fanart for Takumi’s pet rat, Hunter! I titled this one “Guardian of Premium Cheese.”

I read that Hunter is a descendent of war rats to the Satelis warriors, which is an extinct line. I couldn’t find much information about Satelis, so I thought it would be appropriate to have my tribe’s traditional art for this. We used to be a warlike a long time ago, so I wanted to give Hunter the look of a warrior with the markings representing some of our traditional tattoos. I read he’s a black hooded rat too, so I wanted to make him that with southeastern symbols of a warrior.

I added a couple important symbols and colors that have powerful meanings. The “fishnet” like pattern on the tail is like the garfish scale pattern. The garfish is a sacred fish with a dance dedicated to it. Hunter’s ears have the sun and spiral in them, which are two of the three important symbols. The sun is the source of life and the spiral is a symbol representing the journey of life into the afterlife. It is one of the few symbols for Takumi and his work.

I added red for war and destruction because of Hunter’s lineage and power with some white for peace and order since from what I can tell, he’s usually peaceful. Blue represents spirituality. There is a legend that blue eyes have the ability to see the spirit world, which is called ghost eyes. I gave Hunter the blue forked eye markings to represent this. This is because of Takumi being a paranormal investigator. The two white dots on his head is another symbol representing connection with spirits or the spirit world, another nod to Takumi’s adventures.

I kept his accessories a minimum with colors of the Chickasaw medicine wheel, and it’s a bit different from the more well known medicine wheel that’s often from other tribes. But both wheels mean the same. That is why I added yellow and green to Hunter since the medicine wheel is the four aspects of life like the four elements, the four stages of life, and the four parts of well-being, which are physical, mental, emotional, spiritual.

"I mean...” Her initial response trails off. He was talking and she was starting to worry since they’ve been walking through the pitch black void within this forsaken tunnel. Though it may not be wise to take a break. This area is not much safer. “I hear you. Scratch that.” She speaks up once again and her gaze turns away from Takumi back to the darkness straight ahead of them.  “Golly...I don’t know when we’ll reach the end.” Though it seems more like an if than a when. 

No. No, she can’t be so pessimistic. It certainly won’t help their current situation. 

“I don’t know. I just don’t want you to tire yourself out. Then, we may really be in trouble.” Slender shoulders shrug the thick straps of her backpack, allowing the straps down her arms before taking them off. A swift pull on the bag’s zipper opens her bag. The flickering light is unnerving, and she doesn’t want to find out what happens when everything goes dark. 

If only there was a light at the end. Any sign that they are almost out of there.

“I think I have some batteries.” At least, Harmony hopes she does. She usually comes prepared but who knows that will happen next.

Nunnally liked old cemeteries. And this one was especially beautiful. Victorian in a way. As odd as it might have seem, cemeteries like this one were the only real thing that were left from the times of her childhood. She looked to be in her early twenties. In fact, we was much older. But time for a demon like herself had a different meaning, or perhaps no meaning at all.

Would she find here the names she knew as persons? Probably not; it was a different place.

“Help us figure out what?” – Nunnally asked gently; wondering how much he knew; or how much he suspected, and how much he only imagined. But she nodded: --

“But I do feel cold.” – it was a chilly night after all – “Though I am not sure if that is the cold you are talking about.” – it was almost a full moon, and she was looking up at the night sky – “It seems it will rain.” – she added; her blond hair shining oddly in the moonlight. No; she was not worried she was the source of that cold. She had been around humans long enough, living among them as one of them. If there was any cold at all, it was not her.

Perhaps if she wanted, she could track it for him. But perhaps this way is better. Letting him do, what he needs to do.

“What now?” – she asked, curiosity shining in his eyes – “Are you expecting me to confess to something?”

“Being a ghost?” – that would fit her complexion – “Or a vampire?” – though she had no fangs at all.

“Are you always that suspicious, Takumi?”
