Birds See In More ‘Color’ Than We Do: Researchers Recreate Avian-Eye Light Absorption Using Camera Filters

Birds can see in even more color than we can, thanks to an extra cone type in their eyes. A new study has resulted in the development of a camera filter that can approximate this extra dimension in light-perception.

Specular reflection, also known as regular reflection, is the mirror-like reflection of waves, such as light, from a surface. In this process, each incident ray is reflected, with the reflected ray having the same angle to the surface normal as the incident ray.
