"How can I possibly trust you?"
Rose frowned, eyes softening as she dropped her sword to the sand of the beach they were stood upon. She didn’t have a real answer to the question-- she wished she did, she wished she could say something without it sounding like a threat, she wished she could help Lapis trust her. But she couldn’t.
“--I haven’t killed you,” She began, voice smaller than what would be expected from a gem of her stature. “Nor have I tried.” She gave a small shrug of her shoulders, thinking over how best to word the rest of her response. “In all honesty, you’re the key to winning this war. I,” She stopped herself, taking a small breath before continuing. “We need you. You have an advantage on this planet, which can either destroy it, or protect it. I-- I cannot tell you which side to choose, though I can offer you protection. Companionship. The chance of being a true hero of this world.” She let the words linger, chewing on the inside of her lip in the silence. “Though there is no going home if you choose to fight alongside our cause.”
