We see a lot of displays of irritation towards “baby talk” as used by many k*ink l*ttles. We definitely share this irritation. But, our youngest headmate, bunny, brought something to our attention.
Kids in systems and some regressors, may not understand the difference between speech difficulties and “baby talk” and may interpret our irritation as being towards them as well.
So for age regressors or system littles:
🌙If you you have a speech impediment and wish to share this aspect of yourself in how you type, that is okay!
💫If you have difficulty with grammer and drop words from sentences or say them out of order, there’s nothing wrong with that!
⭐️If you use the wrong spelling for a word, whether it’s hard or simple, don’t pay any attention to that! It’s not bad!
🌙If you understand a word in context but can’t type the proper spelling/conjugation, whether it’s because your older but in a child headspace or because your body and understanding is older but your still a system kid, that’s perfectly fine!
💫If you have words or terms you used in your childhood that people may view as “babyish” but they are comforting to you, use them without care!
⭐️If you have difficulty with actually producing speech, even in writing, while regressed or as a child in a system, and need to communicate with symbols/broken sentences/pictures, that’s nothing to be ashamed of! Even if it’s inconsistent!
These are ways and levels of communication that are natural to you/your regression. “Baby talk” is a forced (and often over exaggerated) mimicry of your speech difficulty. It’s okay to be yourself and embrace your differences. But it’s not okay to romanticize or fetishize differences or difficulties of another person, which is what “baby talk” is in the context we are speaking of.
