So I was a Pandora Hearts reader back in the 2010s, starting from the tail end of when it was still coming out (thank you local library). Since I was in PH fan spaces, I knew of VnC from the moment it was first announced. However! Around that time, I saw someone's really sanctimonious post about how, since the series was getting a simultaneous translation and releasing for like 1$ USD per chapter, there was No Excuse for manga piracy. It was ~unforgivable~ to pirate VnC as it released. And I, an unnecessarily spiteful broke teenager who got 99% of my manga via piracy or the library, said "alright, I just won't read it then." And I proceeded to ignore it until I forgot about it for several years.

Then in 2021, the anime announcement made its way onto my dash, and I went "oh fuck I forgot about the new Mochijun manga. I should read that before the anime comes out." Suffice to say I enjoyed it 🙂‍↕️

Or wait actually I just had a better idea. A Johann and Noé version of that really wild non-canon bonus chapter from the Radiant Emperor series. Johann sees how oblivious Noé is to his own feelings of attraction and seduces him for a one-time thing purely out of spite. And acts like Vanitas. So that Noé has to live with the aftermath of the Realizations

Got any unsubstantiated and/or somewhat improbable predictions/theories for the future of vnc?

I've said before I'm a big fan of the Teacher is Paracelsus theory, which isn't super out there, but it's definitely on the unsubstantiated side rn.

Off the top of my head my only other big one is that I'm a Vanoé bite truther. Specifically, my current pet theory is that "I won't die, Noé, even if I'm no longer here," from the flash forward at the end of chapter 1 is Vanitas telling Noé that he won't be fully gone when he dies bc part of him still lives in Noé's Archiviste memories. Or some sappy nonsense like that. I have no proof but until given substantial evidence otherwise I'll be believing it. I think it would be nice.

Who are you betting Mochijun will kill first? And do you think that death will occur this arc?

Hmmmmm potentially Riche. I hope I'm wrong, but this arc feels like a good potential setup for a Riche death.

Otherwise, I'd guess there's good odds that a Chasseur will be the first to go

Oh also I forgot to say, but I do think we're due for a character death in general sometime this arc. To go with the whole "waking up from the dream" thing Teacher said to Noé at the amusement park, y'know?
