i like the idea of howard being this one-sided rival to jimmy. jimmy likely still has a lot of animus towards howard, as he represents the “office in the sky” that jimmy is trying to be on top of. so far though, howard seems to be friendly with jimmy. also, howard will make an incredible straight man to saul goodman’s Goofy Courtroom Antics.

i think this is a likely direction. is no wonder that howard is friendly towards jimmy now, given that his donations probably helped save HMM, and his speech in his office also had to serve as a wake-up call for him (i know jimmy was 100% projecting REALLY HARD when he said all that stuff to howard, but i want to believe a part of it had to be sincere too - he didn’t seem particularly thrilled to see howard turned into a “sucker”).

i do want to see how the whole sandpiper deal turns out too.

i still like an idea i read on le r*ddit once, that the time he gets his money from sandpiper coincides with the time kim leaves him. so he begins an unhealthy fixation with using money as a way to ignore his emotional problems even more.
