OOC INFO: Name: Marley Age: 18 Time Zone: Central Activity Level: 10/10 IC INFO: Character Name: Spencer Killian FC: Paul Wesley Age: 20 Sexuality: Bisexual Bio: Spencer grew up in California, in a household that wasn’t exactly perfect. His parents were alcoholics who barely gave him the time of day, causing him to have to take care of himself from a young age and making him into the honorary son of all of the other parents on the block. At first the neighbors were wary of letting him near their yards and their children, seeing Spencer as more of a dangerous stray than a regular child, but they soon realized that despite coming from one of the roughest families, Spencer was unusually kind, loving and affectionate. He helped them with their children, all younger than him, and kept them all safe and out of trouble while still ensuring that they could all run around and have fun together. He even referred to the other kids as his babies. But at the age of seven his parents decided that they didn't like living in Hollywood anymore and moved them, leaving Spencer’s babies and the only real family he ever knew behind. Despite all of this, Spencer never blamed his parents for not taking care of him or for taking him away from the people who he loved and had come to recognize as family. Ever the optimistic, he was just happy that his parents were doing what would make them happy. Having left all of his friends and family behind in Hollywood, Spencer had a hard time adjusting to life in Philadelphia. The rest of his elementary years were tough and most of the other children stayed away from him. It was only in Middle and High school that he was finally accepted by his peers. Spencer didn't fit into any one of the social groups and rather bounced from one clique to another as he saw fit. He became known throughout his highschool as the boy who was just there when you needed him, no matter what it was you needed him for. He made an excellent shoulder to cry on and a great friend, despite being a bit clingy. When his parents walked out on him at the age of sixteen and he had to drop out of school, he was missed. A social worker was assigned to keep an eye on Spencer and ensure that he was happy and able to live comfortably on his own. Spencer managed to find odd jobs around town and take care of himself just as well as he had always been able to do. With help from his social worker he was able to graduate from high school and save up enough money to put himself through college. Pennbrook was recommended to him and he didn't think twice before applying. Since his acceptance to Pennbrook, Spencer has found his passion in the Dramatic Arts, which he had never before considered he could be good at. Once he has graduated from Pennbrook he plans to combine this passion with his love of children and work in the field of Education. Major: Drama and Theater Ships: Spencer/Chemistry Anti-Ships: None Writing sample: They hadn’t sold the house. That had been the first thing that had registered for him, out of all of the information that the woman on the other end of the phone had given him, that was what had Spencer’s immediate attention. The house back in Nicktown hadn’t been sold when his parents had moved them when he was a kid. They’d kept it and had it up for rent. The moment he’d found out, he’d told the woman that he wanted it back. More than anything, Spencer wanted to go back to the town that he’d always thought of as his home, where he’d left his family behind when the people who’d tried to act as his family had forced him away with them. He’d been able to imagine everything. He imagined moving back into his old small, yellow house, the one that was just a few blocks from Phil and Lil and even closer to Tommy, Adelle and Charles. He’d get unpacked and he would go to see them and it would be just like he’d never left in the first place. He’d have everything back again. Everything. That’s what he’d thought when he decided to return, but since then he’d realized that nothing could have been that perfect. Nothing could ever be that perfect. No one had realized when he’d come back. He’d been attending the town’s college for a week before anyone had even noticed that there was someone new in town, and then when he’d finally gotten to talk to the kids again, they all seemed happy, but none of them had much time for their old friend Spencer, anymore. It had been silly for him to think that people he hadn’t seen since he was twelve years old would want anything to do with him after nearly ten years apart. They were his only family and his only friends but that wasn’t a mutual feeling. They all had parents, cousins, siblings, friends they had made in town over the years, and things going on in their lives that were more important to them. Spencer was left behind. As he sat there, on the edge of his bed, looking down at the picture he’d taken with him when he’d been moved, and then brought back when he’d returned, he wondered why he had come back at all. The babies in the photo, squirming and smiling and spilling milk all over the place while Spencer tried to get them to pose and get Phil to just put the caterpillar down and pay attention had grown up. They didn’t need a babysitter anymore. Tommy had been right when he’d told him that he was irresponsible, the night before. No one needed him around to take care of them and clean up their messes and worry about everything or help them with their problems. The only thing that Spencer had to do was attend their parties. Cling to them as hard as he could in his effort not to try and lose them. Get drunk off of his rocker and cause them all problems because of it. His head fell between his knees and he dropped the picture, letting it fall to the floor. His fingers got a good grip on his hair and he just stayed that way for the longest time, the pain from his hangover pounding at his temples and the memory of Tommy shrugging him off as if he were nothing but a nuisance to him fresh in his mind. Lily being angry at him for wanting to spend time with his little brother. Spencer should never have come back and ruined things for everyone. He should have stayed where he was. Anything Else?: I have a little grey kitten named Hope and every time I see her, I say "Hi Hope!" I think it's hilarious because "High Hopes".
