speslodge replied to your post:Attention people whose first language is not English
We usually say, “mille”. It is officially a number, “thousand”, but whenever we use that word, we refer to an unspecified, rather large number. “I have a thousand things to do today” = “Ho mille cose da fare oggi”. Not really a thousand, but so many.
Yeah, we do that in English too, usually with "million". But I wondered if there were any examples of sort of made-up, numbery-sounding words that aren't actual numbers, like "umpteen".
First of all, sorry about the delay. I got a few of these, so find them all under the cut!

Rule 4: Actually tell them you tagged them.

1. What was your favourite show or movie during your childhood?
Back to the Future, all three of them. Got my own Delorean! (still have it, sshhh)
2. Is there anything you’re superstitious of?
No, I don't think so
3. What is on your desk?
Laptop, pen, pencil, coffee mug, notepad, sonic screwdriver (Ten's), a couple of books, phone, headphones...
4. If you could spend a day with a fictional character of your choosing, who would that be and how would you spend the day with them?
Obvious choice... I'd spend it with Ten, somewhere in the distant future, visiting some markets, strolling through fields of apple grass... Running for my life, maybe? Then I'd make him take me to ancient Rome (not Pompeii!) and then to New York in the 60s. And then... well it's a time machine, the day would never end :)
5. Do you have any quirks that you are aware of?
Several. I get a high pitched voice when I'm nervous or excited. I also use ahh way too often. I am really expressive so you can tell a lot just by looking at the weird faces I make.
6. Name one thing you’d never want to part with.
My laptop? No, seriously, maybe my graduation watch and my first guitar.
7. How many countries have you travelled to, and what is/were your favourite/s?
15, I think? My favorites are always the countries where I've actually lived, and not just visited. So those would be the US, Australia, the UK and Italy
8. What is your standard snack when watching a movie?
Gummy bears...
9. Is there something you ALWAYS carry with you?
The usual: phone, headphones, wallet, keys...
10. What was the last thing you bought for yourself?
The Richard II DVD (surprise!). Which actually hasn't even been released yet, so I don't even have it!
11. Anything you’re looking forward to this year?
A professional challenge

My questions:
1. Favorite holiday?
Christmas and not because I particularly like Christmas, just because I don't usually see my family during any other time of the year.
2. If you could own any animal as a pet, what would it be?
A dog! I've always wanted a dog, but my parents wouldn't let me have one :(
3. One thing you would change about yourself (personality wise, not looks)?
Sometimes I'm too stubborn! I'd like to change that and be a bit more flexible.
4. Are you a jealous person?
Romantically, a little bit. Otherwise, I don't think so.
5. Dream vacation?
Canada!! Childhood dream, really. I'd love to take the Toronto-Vancouver train.
6. If your house suddenly caught fire (and I pray this never actually happens) and you only had time to grab one thing, what would you grab and why?
Probably my laptop. My work is there, pictures, everything!
7. Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck?
Donald, I always found it adorable :)
8. How much sleep do you get each night?
Usually about 7/8 hours. Used to sleep much more than that though.
9. Biggest Notp?
Doctor/Donna (they're bros!). I have other Notps, but that one is like a giant NO.
10. If Eleven had been written by a better writer (RTD counts) do you think you would have liked him?
Maybe. I think Matt Smith did a good job with what he was given. If RTD had written Eleven, chances are I would have liked him.
11. Will you be watching the new season of DW?
Yes. It's DW, I can't stay away. Don't know if I'll like it though... I'm super excited about Capaldi. But then, well, we have this showrunner so...

1. If you could travel in time, what era would you visit?
The distant future. I'd be really intrigued to see how we've ended up and how everything looks like, works, etc.
2. And if you could meet a person of the past (famous or not), who would it be?
My grandma.
3. What scares you most?
Uncertainty.
4. If you could live in a tv series, what would you choose and why?
I could say DW, for obvious reasons, but I could also say The West Wing. I'm a bit of a politics/news junkie so I'd love to live within that world for a while.
5. Someone say that our OTP is the exactly idea of the relationship we desire/need to live in. What does your OTP say about you?
Mmmhh let's say we're talking about Ten and Rose and Josh and Donna (TWW). These relationships are clearly different, but taking one commonality, in both the characters refuse/are not able to see what's right in front of them. Applying that to me, it probably says I'm too absorbed in my own world most of the time.
6. They say the same thing about our favorite character(s). It seems he/she is what we are or shows a part of us. Which character(s) are you and why?
My favorite character, ever, is the Doctor (Ten being my dearest, of course), which probably reflects my adventurous side, the need to know more about everything, my itchy feet, and how protective of my people I can be. It does not reflect a whole lot of other things of course.
7. Choose. Parallel world with your family and friends or yours with the Doctor (if you stay with him, you will not be able to see your family and friends anymore).
If I were in love with the Doctor, I might choose mine to stay with him. But that'd be a really tough decision. Man, this question!
8. If you could ask your future self one question what would it be?
Are you happy?
9. And if you could go back in time and meet yourself as a kid, what would you do? And what advice would you give her/him?
I'd say: "Don't worry so much about what others think of you".
10. Did you know that our brain’s neurons look exactly like the structure of the Universe? What if we were figments of someone else’s imagination?
I think that wouldn't suprise me as much as it should.
11. Have you ever watched Another Earth? If yes, would you like to meet another version of yourself, if you were in Rhoda’s place? And if you could, what would you tell her? If you haven’t watched it, well, you should.
Nope, guess I should now!

I'm tagging, but you don't have to do it if you don't want to, really. I'm just following the rules, after all :P Also, I'm not sure if any of you guys already got a few of these... So feel free to do as you please!
