Another unmistakable tundra lichen is Sphaerophorus fragilis. Here it is happily cohabitating with a moss.
Here is Sphaerophorus globosus bearing some globose spheres, as you might expect. These spheres are where its spores develop.
I like to think of it as Bunodophoron melanocarpum's slightly gangly, awkward cousin.

While I was at it with the moss, I decided to finally do something with that Coral Lichen I collected in July from Mt. Crescent in New Hampshire, and made a batch of necklaces with it. I don’t have that much so, unfortunately, supplies are limited.
