Personality: Commonly compared to Mambas, Sphyinxes search to be praised and spoiled, coming from the idea that the Egyptians worshiped cats lavishly. They may want riches and affection, they are also felines, so they can be both very attached and clingy, as well as snarky and rude at times. Remember that these guys are beings that can make mistakes as well, and if they cross a line, having a conversation with them will be better for the both of you, as these little kitties never really want to hurt anyone, even if they do believe they’re royalty!
Likes: Soft things, jewelry, being praised, shiny things, hunting.
Dislikes: Those they deem “below them”, rude people or bitties, strong smells or loud sounds
Compatibility: Sphyinxes work well with most, as long as they are given their space and their own area to be alone in when needing to get away from it all. Generally they may not get along well with rude personality bitties such as the Fell lines, and some may not get along with those who are anxious and/or shy, seeing them as weak. Boundaries need to be set when adopting a Sphyinx, so none are overstepped and no feelings are hurt!
Feeding Habits: Omnivores! Sphyinxes work well with most things, it’s mainly recommended to feed them magic-based foods, but some may be a bit more picky and want more.. “lavish” foods, really the only definition found is just.. your food! Giving them pieces of meat such as sandwich meat or small salads to those who enjoy them along with magic supplements is also a enriching diet for them! Try not to be surprised if you find a mouse, toy or not, in your bed or at your door, as these little guys also work like real cats, bringing you food since you cannot hunt for yourself!
Extra Factoids:
- Careful when your Sphyinx is overstimulated or angry, as these guys are tied into the art of chaos and arcane magic. Though weak, these guys can gain the ability to control karma and luck, and it is unwise to set one off knowledgeable in controlling it.
- While they enjoy their robes and jewels, these guys are sphynxes, so they may need sweaters in colder weather!
- When adopting a Sphyinx, you will acquire a complimentary blanket, pair of sweaters, and special skin oil specifically for this breed of bitty. They’ll appreciate it being used as their skin can get dry and cracked easily!
- Generally comes in natural skin tones for sphynxes, such as pink and grey, along with cooler-toned markings, such as blue or silver/gray. But, warmer-colored markings aren’t uncommon, only occasional!
