It's late so I'll add on later but this I feel is the most important aspect of the idea.
Hypothetically speaking, let’s just say Spice survived the war:
Would he get along with Joe? Would cinnamon have turned out not so jackassy? How would he feel about his grandkids (both Cinnamon’s and Joe’s) what would his job be after the war? Would he work alongside Bean?
He would get along with Joey. It might be odd at first, since Joe didn't know him well. (Spice had to leave shortly after Joe turned three.) Cinnamon would've been the same, happy little kid (and thus adult) he was had his dad not died, because there'd be no confusion of feelings between him and Joe. (Reminder that Cinnamon, being a kid, mistook Joe's not crying for not giving a shit that their dad was dead.) He'd probably be nearly as peppy as Joe, since that's just how the family is naturally, personality wise. He would ADORE his grandkids, and spoil them rotten. While he's young he would've probably go back to his job in the lumber business, but when he "retired" he'd probably bake and sell things with Bean (especially after she retired from teaching) and ofc help man the farm. This was a fun ask! :)

Here’s my question,
Why are you such a dick to joe? Seriously. like, what did he ever do to you-
Funny enough, I had this ready to go XD None of this justifies WHY he is the way he is, but it is the reason. As mentioned in an ask way back, Joe didn't know their father. He had literally just turned 3 when Spice (their dad) had gone off to war by draft. However, Cinnamon was six, and he did know their father. At 6 and 9 years old, Joe and Cinnamon respectively, a soldier came to their doorstep that wasn't their father, and Cinnamon immediately knew something wasn't right. When their mother spilled the news Cinnamon's heart and hope shattered. But what bothered him almost as bad as his father's death? The fact that Joe didn't know how to react. Joe obviously was sad, he knew someone just died, which wasn't good, and he knew it was his father, and this means he'd never meet him. But he didn't fully understand what death was, being six. Not to mention he had no emotional connection. But Cinnamon took it as his own brother not caring that their dad died, and it filled him with more heartbreak and anger. And though he knows better now, he still finds it hard to forgive him. But he will before everything's over.
