Ginger plants. This is a picture we took on our way to Munnar via NH49, close to Eastern spice factory. Ginger or Zinziber officinale is a herbaceous perennial. Origins from India and South Asia. What we use is rhizome. In India we use it in fresh raw form and also dry form.
