Sweet chili sauce is a multipurpose condiment that works well as a glaze, marinade, or dipping sauce. Its ideal ratio of sweetness to heat gives your favorite recipes a delectable kick.
Ingredients: 1 cup of granulated sugar. 1/2 cup of water. 1/2 cup of rice vinegar. 2 cloves of garlic, minced. 2 red chili peppers, finely chopped adjust to taste. 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. 2 tablespoons of cold water. 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
Instructions: Rice vinegar, sugar, and half a cup of water should all be combined in a saucepan. When the sugar has completely dissolved, stir over medium heat. To the saucepan, add the finely chopped red chili peppers and minced garlic. To let the flavors meld, simmer the mixture for five to ten minutes over low heat. To make a cornstarch slurry, combine the cornstarch and two tablespoons of cold water in a different small bowl and stir until smooth. Stirring continuously, gradually add the cornstarch slurry to the simmering sauce. This will make the sauce thicker. Simmer and stir the sauce for a further two to three minutes, or until the consistency is to your liking. After taking the saucepan off of the burner, allow it to come to room temperature. After the sauce has cooled, pour it into a bottle or jar for later use. Keep refrigerated. It will store nicely for a few weeks.
