31. Is there anything that counts as a “dealbreaker” for them, positively or negatively? What makes things go smoothly, and what spoils an activity or ruins their day? Why?

The thing that makes Filch’s day go smoothly is the idea of having good friends and family (at least a part of it) to back him up; after all he always needed a lot of encouragement to pursue his dreams.

The thing tahat can ruin his day very bad is , instead, the failure…he is absolutely terrorized by the idea of failure…it’s the thing that absolutely terrorizes him the most. Probably because he thinks to be a failure himself.

The City Underground

The elemental closed her eyes briefly. She'd had to tolerate some pretty distasteful things in the past, but trying to blend in with a group this foolish? It was starting to make her ill. She leaned back against the chair, trying to keep her electricity from shorting out. 

The monsters from this group were fools. They were a gang of monsters playing Chicken with their LV. Trying to figure out the most vile things they could do, without actually gaining a level, or raising their EXP. Fortunately, she found most of the group were just eccentric monsters. Horror fans who just wanted to be able to discuss their hobby freely, or wannabe philosophers tired from their 9-5 office jobs. They weren’t the ones that bothered her.

The ones that frightened her, where the ones that actually went along with their plans.

She knew of at least two monsters in this group, who'd gone so far as to try kidnaping some random monster. Their goal only seamed to be to startle them, but she had no doubts that if she ignored it, it could grow to be a big problem.

For now, all she could do though was play along. Figure out exactly which ones she had to worry about.

“to tell the truth I didn’t even know I owned this. but man I thought I had layers on before. this was a bit of work to get on.”

Training (open rp)

The woman spun the summoned knives in her hands, her eyes narrowing as her fists clenched before she exhaled deeply through her chest, the breath curling like smoke from her shirt as she relaxed her shoulders and closed her eyes. 

Turning she lifted her upper arms, then her middle ones, and finally her lower arms, one by one flinging the knives into the trees surrounding her, practicing her aim as she often did when she was feeling frustrated, stressed, it might not be the most traditional way to relax but it soothed her to keep her skills in check.

The knifes that struck the frozen bark would vanish soon after, reappearing in her hands as she continued, turning and moving as if she were in a battle, dodging imaginary attacks as she flung the blades into her imaginary targets, the thunk of blade into wood the only sound she needed to hear to continue.

A royal gathering (open rp with little Hex)

A grand party was being held at the Royal Castle in New Home, the king and queen would sometime hold a gathering for select families to attend and indulge in a grand ball among other festivities. In the city a festival was held on the same day for families unable to attend the royal dance so they too could enjoy a day of fun and feast, after all, no monster would be left out completely as it was not the way of monster kind to do so.

On this day a Widow and her spiderling dressed in gowns walked up the steps to the palace, the elevator was no way to make an entrance the mother monster would tell her child who nodded in an agreeing manner. Her mother did love to make a show, especially with their gowns being of her own spider silk design, she never missed a chance to show them off.

Reaching the door the mother spider drew their invitations from her pocketbook and handed them to the doormonsters, awaiting to be announced in proper fashion before entering with her young daughter “Announcing Ms. Astra Lupus and her daughter Miss Hexerei Lupus” their names were called out, loud and clear. The young monster folded her hands at her front and back after curtsying to the polite door monsters before following her mother inside. Hexerei looked about the decorated entrance hall, her sharp green eyes, taking in the polished white walls and freshly shined floor, all to be expected from the home of the kind and queen of monsters after all. She followed after her mother as she greeted friends and business partners, internally sighing through her chest with her arachnid like lungs, bored from the dull conversations she was all too used to hearing.

Patting her dress down a bit she looked around a bit more, parting from her mothers side with naturally quiet steps to find something else to do besides be her mother’s little shadow. With quick strides her rich black gown fluttered about her ankles, long black hair curled and bouncing with every step as she wove around the monsters around her, all a fair amount larger and older than she was.

Through the door (open rp)

Hex had been leaning next to the door, eyeing the spiders that had started following her around after leavening Muffet’s bakery “come on guys, shoo. Go back home, you’ll freeze out here” the woman mumbled, rolling her eyes. She may be a snow dwelling spider but Muffet and her companions were not, she wished they hadn’t of followed her, her own spider companions could stand the cold but not them. They’d shrivel up had it not of been for the door suddenly pulling open, the mass of spiders cascading into the snowless room atop a stranger.

The spider monster rose a brow, her sharp green eyes shifting to the open doorway and the figure on the ground, who the Overworld was this? Why was someone coming out of there anyways? She shooed the spiders away and rested a few hands on her hips, staring down at the figure “you lost or something?”

Hannah had been walking for who knows how long, feet aching as their bare soles slapped across stone. She’d passed through the winter town of Snowdin and ventured through waterfall to the Hotlands.

Tired and roughed up from various monsters Hannah sat herself down to rub her sore feet with a wince. 

It was taking her a while to get to the castle, but she needed to speak to the King.

"It wasn’t your fault."

“I wish that was true,” Sans said, averting his gaze. He didn’t want to look at anyone at the moment. “If I hadn’t been so stupid…then none of this would be happening! I’d still be home now! With….Papyrus….” Sans sighed and sat back in the chair. “But no, I had to be a complete idiot and test out my traveling device while completely sloshed!”

Needing to vent his self-anger, he slammed his fist onto the cafe table. “And who knows how much trouble and worry I’ve caused him by being gone…and leaving the lab in utter ruins….everything without real warning! I said I’d be back in an hour! And instead…it’s been weeks since I’ve been gone…” He choked back a sob. “What if…What if he thinks I died in that explosion?”
