Got her powers out reporting for the Bugle on a radioactive waste dump site after falling in a frozen-over pond filled with still-radioactive material. The radioactivity in the area somehow fused the ice with her biology to the point she can now create and control it.
Her and Goldie work together as interns at the Bugle where they have mutual hallway crushes. At the same time, Rowan is also obsessed with Spiderbrite, but hasn’t yet made the connection between their coworker and the vigilante.
Arctic jumps in during a fight to help Cody at some point, which is when he makes the connection between the new hero and his friend from work.
