hmhm where to start ... well , i decided that i'd be shifting to the day i meet him so i'll be getting the full experience of getting to know him , clicking and falling in love , though i'm a lil nervy about the fact that it means that i'll have to live through the unprocessed grief of losing peter but it'll be fine ! hobie'll be there for me , alongside everyone else in my dr .

we meet when he's been at the spider society for like a week or so , and well , he doesn't have a good impression of them so far . he wants to help people , but the way the society is run has him raising his eyebrows , and he was considering leaving , only sticking around to observe a little while longer . it was my second day of being there , and i had seen him around during my tour of the place . when i saw him again , because he's memorable as a spiderperson with spikes on their mask and is someone with a cool vest , i approached him ( rare win for the introverts ) .

it's going to be a lil something of like . i didn't care for him at first , though i thought he looked interesting ( cough my thoughts in this cr reflected ) , but i figured that since i kept seeing him around , i should get to know him . once that happens , i'm whipped . gone . fallen head over heels for hobie .

❝ fool's journey ❞ (day 3)

where do you go in your dr when you need to remember who you are ? the location that feels more like home than home itself. what makes this place yours, and what do you do there that you can’t do anywhere else ?

there's a door that's always open, that smells of cooked food and washed clothes. the Parkers'.

some days without Peter can be... horrible, especially at the start. i'd reach for my phone to tell him something about my day before i remember the text'd just go to his now-dead number, or maybe to someone else who now owns 8 digit code. i'd see something that reminds me of him and get hit with this sense of loss, as if i was reaching out for something but was meant with cold emptiness instead. i'd need comfort, and instead of having my boyfriend to talk to, i curl up on my bed, on blankets that he once laid on, aching and alone.

i'd usually go to harry – he understood, because he too lost his best friend, because he was there when peter died – but with norman in jail, the responsibilities of oscorp falls to him. he's forced into the position of ceo, forced to clean up the mess that norman left behind by being green goblin, forced to deal with the power-hungry, money-grabbing 'advisors' of oscorp; and i don't want to add on to that. so where do i turn? where else can my grief be understood by those who lost peter too? the Parkers' was the place.

i didn't want to face them at first; i failed to save peter, i caused them to lose their boy, but i'm a selfish person and i needed my emotional comfort, so i showed up on their doorstep one tuesday afternoon and aunt may let me in.

since then, aunt may and uncle ben has always let me come over whenever i want, whether with notice or not. they're like a second family to me, right there in new york city, and they welcome me so warmly that i cannot help but return time and time again. they're so kind really, helping me move on, listening to me rant, and even encouraging me when i showed up unsure what to do with my feelings for hobie, and they're basically my home away from home <3

day 2 ; ❝ love language ❞

your private little rituals with your person, the small things that exist only between the two of you. what cafe knows both of your orders without asking ? what hobbies do you share and compete over with the kind of intensity that borders on ridiculous ? what tiny, seemingly insignificant things do you do for each other ?

it is no surprise to anyone when hobie started to permeate every aspect of my life. this has been long coming – in fact, our friends all expected us to get together, and when you know how i treat those i love, you'd have seen this coming.

he takes the left side of the bed, and i the right. it's natural, not something that we've ever assigned, but it's an unspoken rule. he's seen me sleep on my side of the bed alone so many times that he just crawls onto the other side and it's solidified.

the family who runs the restaurant where i get my favourite pancakes know me well enough, and now recognises him too. they love to talk to us, and he loves to talk to them too. he'd joke around, maybe stop their kid from going crazy by entertaining him while i get our food, and we always fight (playfully) to decline their freebies.

i'm a naturally competitive person and he humours me. he did two flips? watch me do three. gwen asks for something? i'm getting it to her first. he brought a drink to our rooftop hangouts? i'm having a whole picnic spread ready. it's ridiculous, and still he goes along with it, one-upping me at times and just having a grand old time teasing me about it.

tiny, seemingly insignificant things hmmm.... he knows how i like my cups and cutlery and always makes sure to put them back in the right place. whenever he walks into the bathroom, the towels are already there, ready for him to use so he doesn't have to go get ones for himself. he makes sure that my music (whatever im obsessed with at the moment) is playing when we first wake up, because he knows how much i despise waking up and how that helps me. i bought doubles of his things when we first "moved in" (aka he just stays over most of the time) and i reorganised the soaps so it's easier for him to access it. he lets me stash a few things on his houseboat, for ease. i charge his things for him because he always forgets, and make sure that his tools are conveniently kept on my study desk because he's going to be fixing things near it and he can access it easily. ...and a lot more.

🥀- If your house has a garden, or if you have houseplants, do they grow well? Do either of you ever forget to water him? Who chose the plants?

my apartment is a penthouse, and on the rooftop, i have a small section dedicated to my plants. hobie doesn't stay with me, but he stays over so much that he practically does. he cooks meals there, he leaves his things there, and i ask him to water my plants from time to time.

it's something that he doesn't really forget (but i do shhh), and he swings over sometimes when i remember mid-class and helps me water them. the plants there are mostly chosen by me, but there is a plant chosen by Gwen (who's staying over) and 2 by Hobie (one of them was stolen from another dimension, it's somehow surviving.)

😴- How do you two sleep at night? Do you share a bed or have any specific items (hot water bottle, pillows, plushies etc)?

when i shift in, we're not together (yet) so i'm going to skip to the future and tell you what's up <3

we have our sides of the bed – the right is mine, and the left is his. i'm particular about that. he isn't allowed in the bed till he's clean (so no crashing in bed right after he comes home, the couch is for that) which he likes to jest about but never crosses the boundaries.

extra information aside, at night, i'd usually curl up in bed first, and if he's still staying up for a while, with my laptop or phone. by midnight i'd usually be beckoning him into bed, and he'd cave, crawling under the sheets with me. i like to tangle my feet with his as we curl up together – either i lay in his arms, or his face against my chest depending on our mood – and we'd sleep like this. if in the middle of the night i wake up and we're apart, i'd crawl back to him and return to our position; and if he wakes up and we're apart, he'd nudge me closer till we're snuggling again.

💌- How much mail do y'all get, and who is it from?

i don't think we get much mail, especially because it's 2029 and everything is mostly online. i think the only time we'd really get mail, aside from weird spam, is when harry goes on overseas and he mails us polaroids. it's something we've been doing since we were kids, a tradition i forced convinced him to do.

TELL ME SOME GOSSIP ABOUT YOU AND HOBIE

UH UH UH HOLD ON PULLING UP MY FORUM RN-

we like to hang out on rooftops a lot. sometimes he'd steal snacks for us to eat up there. sometimes i pass him a cig from the pack i keep on my suit. we talk about whatever,, everything and nothing. he tells me about the cat he saw lounging in the sun when he swung here, i tell him about a kid i saw hit a crazy flip on his skateboard. we watch the sunset. i stare at him more than the setting sun. he's beautiful, with the orange glow cast on his dark skin. he never catches me. i think he knows anyway. i think he lets me stare anyway. we don't talk about that.

oh and he loves to leave his shit at my apartment and my Chesterfield sofa is now covered with stickers (he brings one everytime he comes over) to the point you can barely see the red leather underneath anymore. i can't bring myself to mind it though.

he knows where i keep my spices, my pots and pans, etc. ++ he also knows how i organise my cabinets – while his' back at his houseboat is messy, he knows i'd crash out if mine are and he puts in the extra effort to make sure it's neat. also i'm pretty sure he knows more about my apartment than gwen, the one who lives here.

𝒊ntroducing my babies.. (spiderverse)

ꨄ︎ rocco: my doberman. he's so friendly, really, and he constantly paws at me (which is insane because he's almost my height) to say hello or to demand that i play with him. he can eat as much as he wants and he never gains weight because he loves to run around the house a lot. he's like a gentle giant who can have a little too much energy sometimes, and i trip over him a lot. which is really funny because you'd think i'd see him because of how big he is hello?

ꨄ︎ damian hates people. no seriously, sometimes i'd pet him and he'd look at me like i'm a peasant touching his noble fur. which is so funny like i'm the one who pays for your lodging and food but okay.. he still lets me pet him anyway, so i know he loves me. he rarely gets along with other humans and cats, so everytime i adopt a new pet, i always make sure to socialise them first. he loves, loves, loves chicken, so whenever i buy chicken, he'd stare at me till i give in and feed him.

ꨄ︎ ebony's damian's sister from the same litter. i got them together and i'm like 90% sure she's the "older" one because she's the only one who keeps him in line. my girl loves her solitude, and she likes to climb to high places and just peer down below. it scared me at first – i don't want her to fall – but i know she can handle herself. she's so smart too, i swear, she managed to open the pet room door more than once just to break into the cat treats i keep outside. (i came home to the door ajar and the packet empty in the room.)

ꨄ︎ charlie, my sweetheart and baby boy, was left in the lobby by his previous owner. they'd bought him because he was "rare" and ditched him after, and my father (who owned the building) had to decide what to do with him so i told him i'd take charlie. he was so skinny and peed everywhere, and it took a while for him to trust me and get used to the surroundings, but eventually he's healthy again and he's really, really sweet.

ꨄ︎ maddie was super popular, when i got her, there were so many prospective families that were thinking about adopting her. she's so pretty, but also she's just so sweet and well-behaved. i got her from my parents' friend's daughter, who was a breeder, and she's chilled with the other pets since.
