Oh, nostalgia. How I have missed you
Guess whose library has Arthur Spiderwick's Field Guide to the Fantastical World Around You
Wasn't fully happy with my seahorse (hippocampus guttulatus) mermaids yet. I like him a lot more now.
((And a close-up, because a lot of the details aren't visable))
Indeed, I surprise myself too. This is a Female Wood Elf. 🦋🍁🍂🌱🧐 "Her hair was a whitish blonde and finer than any hair I'd ever seen before. This individual was recorded in the early spring months. Approx. 400 years old." -- Arthur Spiderwick #WoodElf #Female #SpiderwickChronicles #FieldGuide #FantasticalWorldAroundYou #Drawing #Sketch #Rendering #AtLeastOnePerDay #PracticePracticePractice #GettingBetterAllTheTime #Wings #Butterfly #ScenicNatalie #MoreOrLess https://www.instagram.com/p/B6ATCChHSH8/?igshid=o2urmr6scbqk
I've made you familiar with this Wood Elf before. Now bigger, and in color. Painted with gouache. 🍂🏹🧐🎨🖌 #Drawing #Sketch #Rendering #Painting #SpiderwickChronicles #FieldGuide #FantasticalWorldAroundYou #Creatures #WoodElf #DriedLeaves #SeedPods #Archery #ScenicNatalie #MoreOrLess (at CSULB - Theatre Arts Department) https://www.instagram.com/p/B58nIqiHPIc/?igshid=1cuq93fzgg8no
This is a Northern Quarry Dwarf. "His tiny eyes were used to low-light conditions. This dwarf's name was Jarlight. He was as curious about me as I was about him. Many have white beards, although black beards have also been recorded. Much of their clothing is drab and earthen in color. His skin was pale... almost translucent." 🕯⛏✍🧐 #SpiderwickChronicles #FieldGuide #FantasticalWorldAroundYou #Drawing #Rendering #Sketch #PracticePracticePractice #AtLeastOnePerDay https://www.instagram.com/p/B5vm8WBHFpC/?igshid=ic4oiw6tclj8
Why, yes. Yes, I did draw that. This a Wood Elf (Male). "He was over 500 years old. He smelled faintly of damp leaves. The males seem to be more colorful than the females, especially late in autumn. This is Lorengorm, an elvan guard. He was very wary of my prescence. His armor seemed to be composed of dried leaves and seed pods. His bow was made from an unknown wood. Elfshot found buried in a tree." 🍂🍁🏹✍🧐 #SpiderwickChronicles #FieldGuide #Creature #WoodElf #Nature #Drawing #Sketch #Rendering #Art #Inspired #AtLeastOnePerDay #PracticePracticePractice #GettingBetterAllTheTime https://www.instagram.com/p/B5mvDI2FUbN/?igshid=1774r4f3nodl7
Remember the many creatures of The Spiderwick Chronicles Field Guide? I was always in love with Toni DiTerlizzi's illustration style, and amazed by the creativity in each of those creatures. This one is known as a Pacific Sea-Maid. 🌊🧐 #PacificSeaMaid #SpiderwickChronicles #FieldGuide #Creature #Drawing #Sketch #Rendering #PracticePracticePractice #AtLeastOnePerDay https://www.instagram.com/p/B5i0kl2nW_S/?igshid=1jrv4j7l12xp5
