Summary: Peter has to juggle being Spiderman and his new college life, but luckily his cute RA is takes away some of the stress.
A/n: This is the first part of a 2 part story for @mlm-writer as the first place prize in my contest. This part is going to be a headcannon and the second will be a story about 1 to 2k words, maybe more. I hope everyone enjoys it :). Peter was not about 3 months into is second year of college and was already starting to get burnt out
Of course Peter knew that going to college and being Spiderman at the same time was going to be difficult.
But since he had been doing this since high school he thought he was have that school work life balance down to a T.
Turns out college is a different ball park than high school, which must less leeway on late assignments and missing classes.
And he quiet likes NYU a bit too much to get kicked out for his grades (he also paid a little too much money) so he tries his best to stay on top of things.
Even if he is always utterly exhausted.
Things weren’t all bad though
He was able to make some pretty cool friends in college.
One of them being you. His dorm’s resident advisor and his crush since honestly almost a month after he got to know you.
Meeting you was so far- the best thing about his college experience
This was your second year as his RA and you were just entering your senior year in school.
You were so nice and so helpful, it was very easy for him to become friends with you.
You two had a lot in common but were also so different in the best way.
To him you were the coolest person he knew while he was as nerdy as he was in high school.
While he’s a physics, focusing specifically on the quantum realm major you’re getting a liberal arts degree in Philosophy and beyond that you are so amazingly talented to him.
He looks up to you a lot.
As the RA, you reached out to him first, more so for formalities
The real time you guys got to get to know one another is when you ran into each other at the café near campus.
You both had time before class and ended up having coffee together.
You guys talked so long that you almost missed your class.
But it had become a tradition to get coffee at least once a week,
Peter spends a lot more time hanging out in your room than he does in his own.
Even if you both are just doing homework and not even talking. Or playing video games until really late at night he just likes spending time with you.
You were a pretty big support system for him, always offering help when you could tell he was stressed.
Specifically during a time when he procrastinated and had 3 assignments due within the same week.
“Pete you have a lot on your plate, college is a lot of work, I don’t know much about physics but if you need help let me know. The least I can offer you is a quiet place to work.”
College definitely wasn’t the only thing on Peter’s plate but he still appreciates your help.
You joke a lot about how clumsy Peter is since he always has some knew cut that he has no idea where it came from.
You even carry around band-aids for him
A lot of the times Peter is late to your plans. But never once have you gotten mad at him.
Honestly you being so understanding did not help his guilt about not being able to tell you his secret.
He’s always the one who’s late or has to cancel, never you.
And his excuses were never that good
And to make up for it he always bought you breakfast when you guys went out, even if you didn’t want him too. You never put up too much of a fight though.
Peter was pretty much content with keeping his crush unknown to you until he died.
The universe didn’t seem to want that for him though.
The two of you were in your room playing video games (you were winning)
He was sitting on your bed while you were on the floor before you suddenly paused the game a looked up at him.
“Pete do you like me?”
He looked at you with the most adorable dumbstruck look.
“U-uh what do you mean.”
“Like, romantically?”
“Um..” He was stuttering his way through an answer and you laughed, looking at your smile definitely didn’t help his speaking ability.
“You don’t hide it that well~. Let me take you on a date?”
Almost immediately he was nodding his head .“Uh yeah- yes! That would be um- that would be great. I would love that. Yeah.”
“Great, how about tomorrow?”
“Yes tomorrow would be great!’
“Great~”
The both of you had the biggest smiles on your faces as you went back to playing your game.
The date ended up going great. You took him to a local board game café and after that you both just walked around for an hour, having a very exciting discussion about who is the best Doctor in doctor who.
You even walked him to his dorm room and kissed him before wishing him goodnight.
Which was very cliché but very sweet and it still gave him butterflies in his stomach.
It was a good day.
