You're a Poem - Spike x reader
warnings - depressed reader, talks of suicide, mental health.
She walked aimlessly through the park heading to a house she doesn't like to call home anymore. The sun long gone, and the only ones awake are the things that want to hurt her. She doesn't give much mind toward this however, because if she is being honest with herself, it would not be a bad thing necessarily. She would probably help more if she was not here. She wouldn't burden her friends, her family well what is left of it.
She stops to gaze at her house. It loomed over her as if a challenged to walk inside. A challenge to walk inside and not cry, walk inside and be happy. It's a challenge she feels she would lose. She sits on the steps of the haunting house and cries. She has done this a lot lately and she hates it. She cries as if the world is ending, and she is the one that caused it. She felt utterly alone, alone and she felt she deserved it.
Spike has been watching from a distance since she left the bronze. He often did this; he wouldn't call it stalking just making sure she got home safe. She is his favorite Summers. She is the only one that hasn't tried to kill him. She in his opinion is the kindest summers. He never thought that she deserved this. He never thought she should have gotten dragged into this. Yet here she sat crying her pretty eyes out. Wasting her breath on people who don't appreciate her like he does.
"Oh gorgeous, what did they do to you?" She wipes away her tears as he struts closer, his heart breaking with every second. "Hey, Spike I didn't see you there. How are you?" Her voice was dripped sorrow and honey. Ignoring her question, he goes and sits next to her and snakes an arm around her waist bringing her to his side. "What happened pet?" He asks her intently, "I um, well It just Buffy and I got into a small fight that's all."
He chuckles lowly at her underestimation, "Gorgeous small fight doesn't end with you sobbing on the porch. What did she say?" Her eyes tear up again as she looks into the oceans, he called eyes as she contemplates if she should open up to him. "Would it be so bad if I wasn't here. If I came out on patrol one night and didn't come back?" She asks simply there was no emotion in her voice, and it gave Spike shivers. "Yes."
"Why?" He looks at her as if she just gutted him, honestly, she has. She swept the rug right out from under him, and he feared her words. "Why? Y/n if you were gone and I mean really gone, I would never forgive you." He says honestly, she faces him fully the hand that was around her waist now on her thigh drawing circles. His other hand holds the side of her face firmly. Tears brimmed his eyes as hers as already fallen. The air stills and suddenly they were the only ones left on Earth.
"If you leave me, or even think about leaving me my heart would break." He whispers his voice breaking slightly. "Why? I don't do anything but cause trouble. I am no help to anyone. I don't matter." He kisses her between the eyes gently, leaning his head on hers. Both of their eyes close basking in the feeling of each other's arms. "You my dear are a walking poem. I see you every day and you are the only reason why I don't just go. I would stake myself if you ever made you feel like this. You are what makes life bearable. I don't know what Buffy said, but she has had a stick up her ass for weeks now. Please don't leave me." He emphasizes earnestly.
he finishes kissing her lightly on the lips. Before he could get another word out, she wraps her arms around his neck. He brings her into his lap holding her tightly. Burying his head in her hair trying to engulf himself in her closeness while he still has it. She buries her head in his neck appreciating every second. He pulls her away and looks deeply in her e/c eyes. "Come on pet I think we both know you shouldn't be alone right now." They got up and we walked her to his crypt, and he held onto her as if he let go, she would break. Stroking her hair ever so often and whispering 'I'm heres' in her ear.
