my entry for @spinchip 's ice emperor zane dtiys!!!

ive drawn zane a TON but for some reason ive never drawn him full ice emperor??!? i loved messing around with the design and this would be fun to add on to my zane cosplay at some point too hehe

anyway college has had me real busy with assignments so it was really fun to finally get to work on fun stuff hehe

i always got the sense the ice emperor barely knew what was going on, like he can't think straight... everything's cloudy and unreal...

Anyways I did this for @spinchip 's dtiys!! I had a lot of fun and like how it came out so i hope you guys likw it too :]

My entry for @spinchip 's DTIYS !! I hope you like it, I've tried to be as creative as possible :)

Normally I don't post here as I cannot use tumblr at all, but I just had to,, I love Zane, I love The Ice Emperor, I love drawing contests,,

I've tried to make it look like a stained glass window since the ninja are (sometimes) treated like the saviours and just thought that since Zane already had a funeral and a statue they should've made him a little more artsy stuff too.

I've tried to make his face fit the dtiys' one with the faceplate chipped off, 'blood' oozing out, the black eyes, and the shoulder pads,,, :3

Congrats on 4k, you deserve it <3

This is my piece for @spinchip's Draw This In Your Style.

My main goal here was to riff of of the fact that in the initial drawing, whether intentionally or not, Zane's arm placement makes it look like he is taking a selfie. Furthermore, all of you must know by now that I love all kinds of contrast, in this case the "blood" and inscription paired with Zane's big smile. This is, I believe, furthered by the fact that it is hard to tell if Zane is winking, or if his eye is legitimately forced closed by his head injury.

As you all also know, it has been a while since I last drew (or at least, posted) a Zane. I've done many, many other drawings since and like to think I've improved quite a bit, but nonetheless I sat before my empty canvas wondering whether I would still be able to capture Zane in that same style. I'm pleased to report that I've still got it, folks.
