At Deuce's house, Cole remained unconscious while Spindle and Piper were having a little snack. The NRC students are changing in their rabbit costumes in various rooms while Dylla is busy tending her future grandson that she doesn't know yet.

"So kids, who's your parents so I can give them a call?" Dylla said.

"Uhh…you can't contact them, we're not from here." Spindle said. "We're fine ma'am."

"Oh…then what're your names? I'm Dylla."

"Spindle Van…" Spindle paused for a while the moment he saw his father got out from the room. "Red. I'm Spindle VanRed!"

"I'm Piper Trappo..line!" Piper introduced herself next.

"And what about him?" Dylla asked looking at Cole.

Spindle stared at his friend. "Oh he's Cole Spa…tula."

"Cole is short for Cole-dron, that's what my papa said!" Piper added.

"Cole-dron Spatula and Trampoline hm? What weird names you have." Ortho chuckled, "It sounds like some pen name or what you name to your MMO RPG character."

Disclaimer: Spindle Vanrouge belongs to @purezneon This is just my OC headcanons of Cole and Spindle Shenanigans and maybe lore. These headcanons is purely based from my understanding or what I know about Spindle based on that one yap session we had and also the content. This is just a cute headcanon writing.

Context: Spindle Vanrouge is purez's fankid OC of Silver and their OC, Ivory while Cole Spade is my Deuce's fankid with some unnamed spouse.

FIRST MEETING:

I think Cole and Spindle's very first meeting would be pre-NRC days at the Queendom of Roses. They'll only know each other for a short while because Spindle's original home is Briar Valley and the Vanrouge family is just visiting there because Silver's s/o is a Heartslabyul Alumnus and originally lived in the Queendom.

I don't know how old Spindle is when he gets adopted by Silver and Ivory or when Cole is just a kid, or let's just say Cole has a bad memory because he is lacking of sleep so he can't remember people's face well or he saw Spindle one midnight somewhere and thought it was a dream Hence, he forgot him.

So Cole met Spindle again at NRC years later but there he is having his classes with Spindle as one of his classmates . Luckily, how do they meet officially? They were seatmates who surprisingly bonded over questionable food or anything.

COLE AND SPINDLE SHENANIGANS:

Lunches

They were seatmates. Cole has family amongst the staff. He has a doting aunt as NRC's therapist and this doting aunt is Deuce's friend from NRC' days (It's Yuki), Cole mostly gets either home-made lunches or cafeteria food delivered first thing in the morning. Although the lunch has cute characters fit for a toddler, it's bland or sometimes very questionable.

Spindle saw the distress and reminds him of his grandpa Lilia's cooking. Spindle might tell off Cole that bland taste is still good than the chaotic creation of his peepaw but Cole gave a side eye and offered his lunch. Lucky for Cole, Spindle probably had Lilia's packed lunch too.

They exchanged looks, silently competing who has the worst lunch.

So they shared food. Is it friendship?

They had diarerhea together/j or it's just Cole.

Lack of Sleep

Cole is in need of sleep because of his voluntary study habits. He likes to read and refused to sleep during class no matter how tired it is.

I don't know Spindle that much but Since one of Spindle's inspiration is a spinning wheel…Spindle might be ne of those people that will force Cole to sleep. I imagine Spindle had that special needle from a spinning wheel to make Cole fall asleep or Spindle can do whatever to knock Cole in a deep sleep.

STORY OF DUCK

Cole and Spindle shares absurd stories to each other especially the ducks. Example: Imagine the story of Moby Dick but it's Moby Duck. As reference of Wendy Darling telling Peterpan stories.

Cole will invite Spindle to wear a duck costume as sarcasm.

TIME TRAVELLING SHENANIGANS

(These are purely Spindle headcanons)

The Cole and Spindle duo can be sort of a timeloop overblot fixer (idk how to explain nicely so this is just by theory and headcanon btw) where whenever someone overblot, they would just go back in time and figure out the problem of the overblotter and they have to stop it before that overblotter has its overblot monster. So no more fighting the overblot theraphy and just give them actual heart to heart talk therapy.

As reward, Yuki will give the allowance. unlike Crowley. :0

Of course, there's ups and downs in time travelling… one is Cole will most likely tire out and passed out causing his rubber ducky (his mage stone) to overblot. In case, Piper (Ace's toddler daughter) isn't present to slap the blot out of Cole and there's only Spindle…

Spindle can slap Cole to wake up.

Spindle can use his unique magic to pause time to slow down the blotting, letting Cole rest. Spindle can just pop the duck out of existence to get rid of the blot but Cole will ask for a new one as replacement.

Cole can't control what time he would travel to. Like he was walking then suddenly he got back to the far past and he has to wait for the magic to kick in so he can go back in his time again or he can train his time magic so;

After learning Spindle can go back in time too in a way… Cole asked him to fetch him in time whenever he goes missing and as compensation, he will do anything Spindle asked because that's what Deuce taught his son.

If Spindle refuse to give back the duck…well…he has to give two ducks but if not…Spindle will get thrown in Heartslabyul or actual jail for 30 minutes cuz son of a police man privileges //silly

WHOLESOME COLE AND SPINDLE

Both boys can mess with time as their Unique magic…Cole can go back in time. He likes to go back to the era whenever his Dad is present because he wanted to see what Deuce is like when he's at his age.

Cole can't control his unique magic yet but he doesn't mind it because he gets to witness and experience those memories in person again, Even though he met the younger versions of people he knew, that is a new experience for him. He may have use a different alias but at least he creates more time with his dad

Cole is a hoarder of items because that item holds memories of that event and/or someone and maybe this is a life lesson he gives to Spindle.

If Cole learned that Spindle wishes to do time travelling with this reason. Cole will give Spindle free cauldrons to store those precious items.

Angst Idea

Ivory/Silver measuring Poppy and Spindle's heights on the wall. Spindle watching as Poppy grows up and is taller than Ivory, while he stays the same.

Malleus and Spindle both finding it ridiculous. Of course they "grew a lot since last month". They're human. They do that.

Spindle, grown up, hundreds of years later, standing in front of the wall.
