#spinasceremony Intention: Ply a prayer for my grown up daughter @audreeeeena It's been a tough few weeks for her dealing with the Minnesota Winter. I want to send her a virtual mom hug 👩‍👧💕 (never too old for that!) . Fiber: First I plied 2 alpaca singles with some wensleydale locks from the #wisconsinsheepandwool2018 Then I plied in the opposite direction with another wrap of the grey alpaca spun from @lornaslaces! . Witness: This is lighter than air and super soft. It's been soaked and given just a gentle thump. Now she's hanging to dry~dreaming of what she will become. #dailyspinasceremony 📅 🗓 Jan. 2 Intention: Spin to Activate 2019🔥🕯 Fiber: Thick n Thin Wool with Firestar glitter blend, Alpaca Roving. Both from @dyehardyarns_op Witness: Stagnant feeling. The energy is struggling to activate. Both the color choice (clotted blood red) and the way the alpaca isn't drafting with ease. I change up my approach. I try alternating the two fibers rather than holding and blending them together. This is better. I also draft the alpaca (which has been matted a bit by living in my stash for awhile) from the fold. Things start to flow. I fill a bobbin with unknown yardage and weight. Spin Wisdom: When things don't flow, don't force it the way you think it should or you want it to go. Change your approach. And slow down your pedaling! This also works well in life in general...changing my approach🎢for 2019! No more forcing things.
