Hey! I don't know if you guys answer system questions but if you do, can alters form from hyperfixations? We identify as being traumagenic but even after our trauma, we seem to keep forming new fictives and factives sourced from our current hyperfixations or interests. Just wondering if this a normal plural experience haha
We do! And they can! Lots of neurodivergent systems form new headmates due to their hyperfixations and special interests! >w<
Though we would say it’s probably best to rule out trauma as a potential origin for any new headmate, especially if your system is traumagenic, before assuming trauma didn’t play a role! This will save your system a lot of trouble and heartache… if you just assume trauma didn’t play a role in their formations, it may come as a shock or be difficult to swallow if it’s revealed later on that they actually are trauma-formed!
There probably are words for special interest formed headmates and hyperfixation formed headmates… maybe we will consult Pluralpedia and edit this in with the terms later if we can find them! :3
