We split death note fictives
I'm starting to wonder if I see characters as more complex and interesting than they really are because of having such developed fictives who take such deep liberties with their sources. Am I attached to these sources because of good writing or because of my over active imagination filling in the gaps and making it's own thing? Or both? I have no idea.
so i went from splitting an unimaginable amount of goslings to an unimaginable amount of markipliers i only have one right now but..
..they are coming (i hope not, but probably)
Contributing our own hat for the ring:
We're a system and I (Koza) also kin. Asfar as our fictives go, 90% of them have had to deal with ME the majority of the meat mecha's lifespan and are accustomed to fictional countpers =/= them. I know our Stephen Strange is super endeared by the fellow Stephen Fucker (affectionate) we follow.
I am a slightly meaner beast about my small collection of fictionkin, but I think Loki is the only one I even see selfshippers for? I think if someone shipped with Ultron (example,) I would kiss them on the mouth in surprise and wonder. I've seen Nightcrawler ones too, I'm 90% sure, but I'm largely indifferent to people selfshipping with the popular ones, and more like "wow... hehe... nobody selfships with him..." about the ones who don't typically get that kind of love.
Handshake as a fellow system! Participating in the self ship community is one of the ways I like go visibly show my love for a lot of my in-system fictive partners.
Navigating fandom as fictionkin and/or a member of a fictive system can definitely an emotional landmine sometimes.
since I’m curious I wanted to know your thoughts on people self shipping with your kintypes. I kin characters too and personally am indifferent but I know some people hate it. Sorry if this is too invasive and please don’t feel pressured to answer, I’m legit just curious.
Haha... well, it's funny that you ask me, because I'm kind of hyper romantic and I often get a little crush on people who visibly self ship with my kintypes, do art of their s/i with me, etc 😆😅 I'm pretty sure this is not a common reaction. But i get a soft little thrill out of people who feel tenderly about my kintypes, and who want to be close to them.
Honestly I think its valid to feel any way about people self shipping with your kintypes - love it, hate it, indifferent, however you feel, it's okay. The only thing that's wrong is if you harass or antagonize or bother people over their self ships. My policy is always that your kintype doesn't give you the right to dictate what other people do in fandom. Same goes for fictives.
I am sitting in a classroom. I am 28 and sitting in a classroom. It's still weird, even after two years of sitting through classes. At least the psychology class is interesting...

Sinister, i was wondering if you'd have some advice on how to deal with a situation.
some kinfolk who really dislike doubles and say im kinning a certain character wrong because i dont also kin a different character thats related to them have been sending me hate asks ext. ive blocked them on every blog they have, but i keep checking their blogs to see if they have calmed down and they keep vaguing me and self admitted to stalking my blog and having a group chat of people where they all hate me.
i just keep impulsively checking to see oh what are they saying about me now?
I'm sorry I didn't get to this ask sooner anon, sadly, I've been pretty ill and brainfoggy for the last 2 days, so I couldn't address it.
First of all, I am so sorry you're in this situation. It is unfortunately, very familiar to me, and plays out all the time in kin communities, self ship communities, etc - basically anywhere where some people feel like they have a "claim" to a character. I've had it happen to me.
Unfortunately, you can't stop this person from obsessing over you. And you don't have to. It's their problem to deal with, not yours. Remind yourself of that.
Cut off all contact, stop checking their blogs. Ignore them, and keep being yourself.
I want to say here again for anyone who sees this.
It is ALWAYS WRONG to harass doubles. ALWAYS. I don't care what your excuse is. I don't care how insecure you are, or how bad doubles make you feel.
It is always wrong to harass doubles!
