It is not possible, it simply cannot be possible...

Kagome keeps running & running, chasing something she can swear to be a yōkai. The fact that it appeared there, in her time, in her city, is absolutely terrifying. No time to check the well to make sure it is a creature from the feudal age, no room to think what to do, it simply needs to act------and act fast.

When she arrives at the park, her knees force her to stop for a rest. Kagome looks from side to side, but there’s no sign of the yōkai or anybody else. Kagome starts to get worried, what if he went somewhere else & someone saw him? What if he attacked an innocent person? What if...

Suddenly she senses the presence of an oncoming jewel fragment & puts herself in an offensive position. The giant feline monster appears before her & makes her spine freeze as it stares into her eyes with all that deep, rooted hostility. It says nothing, just growls aggressively, & all she can think about is why she doesn't have her bow & arrow at hand. Well, the pepper spray she now has on her hands will have to do the job.

♥ What sort of characteristics or quirks draw them to someone?

LOYALTY :  literally the number one thing on his list is whether or not a person is loyal. he’s not looking for just loyalty in the sense of monogamy. Inu would want to know if they make a promise, do they keep it? do they stick by their friends and loved ones through thick and thin? do they mean what they say and say what they mean? if the answer to any of these is ‘no’, his opinion of and interest in them decreases dramatically.

TRUSTWORTHY :  this goes hand-in-hand with loyalty, since without trust there can be no loyalty, and no loyalty without trust. he needs someone who won’t lie to him or sugarcoat / hide things. he needs to believe in a person, and more importantly, for them to believe in him. someone who has shown little ability of being trustworthy or trusting in others is likely to turn him away.

PATIENT :  this also ties in with the above two traits. its safe to say that Inu is not an easy person to get along with, much less be in a relationship with. people who always get angry at and berate him for how he acts, or try to force him into a situation he’s not comfortable with will be hard for him to tolerate, let alone like.

STRONG WILLED :  while Inu definitely likes someone who lets him go at his own pace and doesn’t scold him for everything he’s not, he needs someone to be the positive counterweight to his bullish behavior. people who can stand up to him and not be intimidated, or at least not let it hold them back, and put him in his place or tell him something he might not want to hear but needs to hear, are those he respects, otherwise his force of personality will just bulldoze over those who are too timid. he might not like it in the moment, but it’ll be better for their relationship in the long-term.

OPTIMISTIC & CONFIDENT :  confidence is attractive, and so is optimism. idiots who are constantly happy-go-lucky will get on his nerves and make Inu not take them seriously, and arrogant assholes with superiority complexes will piss him off, but a healthy dose of optimism and confidence definitely gets his attention. he doesn’t like people do nothing but sulk and complain about their problems, or those who constantly shit on themselves.

KIND & COMPASSIONATE :  it’s hard to see under his gruff exterior, but Inu is a sensitive and kind person, largely in part thanks to his mother and Kagome. he hates cruelty and those who abuse power, or who see themselves as superior to others thanks to their power or bloodline. he might be an asshole, but you will never see him oppress others or assert himself as anything more than what he is, so naturally those who share his view and show kindness in a world full of cruelty will gain his interest.

Yakumo was admittedly apprehensive when Koenma had assigned him a case working with another detective. As far as he had known, he’d been the only one who had been properly trained to handle the kinds of cases that had been thrown his way, but he didn’t have too many complaints about having another addition to the team. After all, balancing school, work and detective cases was leaving him exhausted. He’d welcome the help if the two meshed well together. Two heads were better than one, weren’t they?
