As part of my 10 week prayer journey with God through Beth Moore’s book, Whispers of Hope, I have daily acknowledged God’s right to rule in my life. Specifically asking Him each morning to make me immediately aware of times my thoughts cause me to depart from His authority throughout my day. . He is so faithful in honoring my request and oftentimes, quite comical. For example, yesterday I hadn’t even realized my thoughts were starting to go in a negative direction until I was jolted “back to truth” as I hit my chin on the corner of chair. I literally laughed out loud and said, “Thank you for answering my prayer, I totally asked you to do that!” . One of the most beautiful aspects of having an active, daily, personal relationship with Jesus are moments just like this one. There are many experiences of intimate and authentic connection with Him throughout each day. Not much different than those we have with our closest friends and family. It becomes so very real to you. Not just in head knowledge but more importantly in heart knowledge and experience. . Many people have asked me how I came to love spending time with God.
