The other item I finished quite recently is the Hurricane Hat by Andrea Guldin. I modified this to have a folded-under rib to keep my noggin extra warm. I wore this last week as the temperatures got unseasonably cold for the area, and it was lovely. Western Canadian wool, Western Canadian mill, Western Canadian independent dyer! It’s getting cold out there! Time to make me a hat so that i can take the Vancouver “deep freeze” (read: -12 to -14) weather! One of my favourite new finds @fibreswest last weekend was @carabarter of SpiritSong Studio. Her hand dyed yarns are 100% Western Canadian wool spun by @customwoolenmills. I was one of the lucky fans to get her Love is Love 1 ply fingering weight Mule Spinner Yarn (second photo). She released it last month to raise funds for @unyayouth 2 spirit program. $5 from every skein goes to this group.
