Answering The Call
It’s becoming easier and easier for me to trust the visions that I’m seeing in my mind’s eye. I’ve been bothered by the fact that I wanted to start a blog for over a decade now and yet every attempt felt forced and unnatural.
I think I kept trying to find a niche, or fit myself into a box that I neglected the fact that the nature of my soul is ever expanding and encompassing. As a sun born Sagittarius, I feel I have an undying love to explore all possible avenues of living my best life.
My intention for this blog is to keep it as raw and unfiltered as humanly possible. I want it to be complete with grammatical errors, filled with chaotic good energy, and passion exploding out of the seams of this tumblr account.
I am here to document what’s best for me and what isn’t. I’m here to make a commitment to being myself. The more I’ve been connecting with my authentic silly self, I’ve been noticing that I’ve been having more people wanting to connect with me. My classes have been getting fuller too. It makes me really happy.
Nehemiah is the wine manager in the court of King Artaxerxes, king of Persia, and he is sent to Juda to rebuild the… by bernardo69
The book of Nehemiah shows us the importance of an old proverb from the Bible: "My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion; they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck. Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble" Proverbs 3:21-23. Nehemiah was a servant in the court of Persian King Artaxerxes, and is sent by the King to Jerusalem to rebuild the city. When Nehemiah arrives in Jerusalem, he must face numerous enemies, among them the Samaritans, who looked with distrust at the Jews who returned from the Babylonian exile to the promised land. During the reconstruction of the walls of Jerusalem, Nehemiah must face the deception of some people close to him, but Nehemiah, guided by the spiritual gifts of wisdom and understanding, correctly discerns the false from the truth, and avoids falling into error, the virtue of prudence is not enough to find the lie as explained by the following passage from the Bible: "One day I went to the house of Shemaiah son of Delaiah, the son of Mehetabel, who was shut in at his home. He said, ´Let us meet in the house of God, inside the temple, and let us close the temple doors, because men are coming to kill you—by night they are coming to kill you.´ But I said, ´Should a man like me run away? Or should someone like me go into the temple to save his life? I will not go! I realized that God had not sent him, but that he had prophesied against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him. He had been hired to intimidate me so that I would commit a sin by doing this, and then they would give me a bad name to discredit me. Remember Tobiah and Sanballat, my God, because of what they have done; remember also the prophet Noadiah and how she and the rest of the prophets have been trying to intimidate me." Nehemiah 6:10-14.
No matter what comes your way, God is not surprised. Meeting My Resistance :: Ouch!!!
This pic from my photo archive reflects the inner resistance that has shown up as I follow my Soul's calling.
I feel tested, as if every single fear I hold is being blasted at me by a high powered gun. The negative voice in my head is calling me all the names under the sun.
It's goal? To keep me safe, small, hidden. To protect me from being hurt, from feeling pain, from the judgement or others, from failing and making mistakes. From shame.
I would be lying if I said yesterday was good.
I fell into resistance and observed it's clutches and charms. It reminded me how far I have come for I now see it, hear it, observe it and can separate from it.
And, I also know, if I wasn't scared, if I wasn't feeling fearful, if this wasn't pushing all my buttons it wouldn't be my calling.
The fear and resistance has showed up to confirm my path and to allow me to show myself I have mastered them.
The gifts they brought are illuminating. For I can see how much I've put on the line. How big this leap of faith is. How invested I am.
Time to switch on some bad 80s tunes, switch off social media and tackle that "to do" list!
