{❄️} “It’s much easier to notice how lonely you are when there isn’t a single soul around, isn’t there, Lissandra?”
She hadn’t meant to say the words aloud, but in lieu of actual company, she’d have conversation with herself. Did that make her crazy? Well, crazier . . .
The Ice Witch shook her head side to side, showering the ground with semi-frozen rain droplets from her flowing hair and velvet ears. In an icy environment, at least she’d have the snowflakes feel out to, to sense every intricate pattern. She could do that for years, if she wanted to.
But no, rain was rain. Unfrozen liquid, untouched by her powers unless she willed it.
With a sudden blink, though, she heard footsteps approaching her. She turned away from the source of the sounds, hiding her sightless white eyes.
“Whoever you are . . . I’m not interested in company.”
