FADING TO DUST

This was bound to happen, one way or another. Deucalion should of suspected it. He should have prepared for it. Artie was dying. God. He hadn’t meant for things to go this far. He hadn’t expected for her to get in the way. Dammit Artie. Why couldn’t she just listen to him? Was it really that hard of a thing to do?

He took the damp cloth and dabbed in on her forehead, in attempts to cool her down. Which he knew was entirely useless.

"Artie, stay with me," He shook her body, sad attempts to keep her awake. Until he realized every desperate measure he took, she was fading away, into nothing. Soon she wouldn’t be the lively little girl he thought of as his own, vibrant, rebellious.

"I’m sorry sweetheart."

This was ridiculous. One minute Seth was trying to kill and now he was saving her. He believed it was the fact that she was deaf which made him feel a tinge of respect and protection over her. Though he had been abused as a child he had only suffered from something like a broken bone. That was the extent of it.

Apart from killing him of course.

He sprinted forward toward her attacker, a human, Seth could tell. The tactics the man used was very much human. The attacker had one hand over her mouth and the other around her waist, pulling her as he walked causing her body to be dragged backwards.

In an instant Seth was behind the attacker, causing him to stop and glare at Seth angrily. If Seth was human, he thought he’d be scared. But he wasn’t human, so his stance remained confident.

He grabbed the head of the attacker, his hands covering his skull and smiled evilly. The devilish grin made its way into his eyes. The darkness within him rose and his eyes clouded black.

"Goodbye," Seth said, mockingly. The grip on his skull tightened and the attacker let go of her in pain. The grip tightened further, the attacker tried to squeal free but of course, it was no use. He screamed for help as tears ran down his face and he stared at Seth.

Seth rolled his eyes, “Die with dignity,” he growled as his grip tightened even more. The man did not stop whimpering so Seth grew tired of him. Seth crushed the mans skull in his hand, as he did so his brain was sliced by Seth’s fingers.

He held up his arm higher and the body from the eyes down fell to the ground at Seth’s feet. He dropped the mans skull and parts of his brain on the ground. 

Looking up at Artemis he studied her.

"Did he hurt you?" he asked.
