i think i just realized the difference between american and british game shows

the most popular british game shows are based on trivia and logic. Countdown is a math and vocabulary game; The Weakest Link and Millionaire are trivia

the most popular american game shows are based on socialization, opinions, and the gut reaction of others. Family Feud is based on random opinions and gut reaction from unknown people, The Price is Right is based on economics (which is based on thoughts and opinions about certain items and products), and Wheel of Fortune is common phrases people use on a daily basis

sure, there’s a few outliers like Jeopardy (an american trivia show) and Taskmaster (a british show on gut reaction from comedians) that are very popular, but there is definitely a trend

like, i get that voting for someone makes it seem like you condone every single thing they stand for, but there’s never going to be a candidate you agree with on everything, especially when every single choice you’re given wants to wipe out an entire culture of people. that doesn’t mean voting in itself is an evil act. if anything, NOT voting is worse, because all that says is that you don’t care what happens. voting is a tool of change alongside protesting, unionizing, canvasing, even revolting. if the situation calls for it, you do it.

and they call themselves an anarchist. i’m not an anarchist myself, but i think a smart way to chip away at the pillars would be to play their game in a way that shows how stupid the game is. that’s just me, though
