MMCK how do u name OCs please help
Sorry for the delay tumblr is such a garbage site but im gonna try and put into words what was deleted for yeahMeant to get this to ya sooner buuuuut oopsBut I got you friendSo im gonna try to explain this to the best of my ability because i suck at talking about my processI've got a few different methods for naming ocs when im having trouble thinking of something.-I think about the setting a lot, where they’re from and the naming conventions that are present there (or if it's a special case, if the name is too far fetched in setting or not)-A character’s personality often dictates how I name them, I’m very much into if a name fits a character. I really like when the names have some meaning or relate somehow to who the character is. For example Isana’s name means strong willed which is very much her character, but it also sounded right in my head when I thought about the name in reference to her. I really end up saying a name I like a lot in reference to a character to see if it “fits” when I get into it. I have to make sure the name really matches up to the character in my head before I finalize the process. -And my most trusty tool is my letter game. Which I probably use the most. I think of my character, and then I pick three letters I like the idea of when thinking of a name for them, narrow it down to one by sounding them off in my head like someone is saying they’re name. Pick a letter I’d like to be in the name somewhere and sometimes the sound I think makes the best end to a name (like if theres as a -th or -an or -s etc) and then I make a list of names I like the sound of, go through it for a while, and eventually narrow it down to the one I think fits best based off the last two points. That’s pretty much what I do except those rare instances a name just comes to me that’s perfect for the character I’m dreaming up. And again sorry for the delay, answering this again (thanks tumblr) sort of got away from me.
