I don't know how I didn't see this until now, but apparently a while ago Jeff had made a comment about how Derek and Laura would frequent Splash Bar during their days in NYC.
BITCH. I don't think so. IRL, they would probably have been 100x more likely to go to The Cock, Henrietta Hudson, Cubby Hole... basically anywhere except Splash.
Splash, when it was still a thing, was a notoriously drama-heavy, extremely anti-female (to the point where there wasn't even a bathroom - just a long trough dudes peed in), meth-face twink fest that was constantly getting raided for underage go-go dancing and drinking. They also charged some of the highest door fees around (especially if you were a girl).
As much fun as it is to think of little Derek and Laura Gossip Girling it up in the Big Apple, something tells me Splash would not have been high on their list of must-see attractions.
