Oh no, see I ALSO have a music theory background. I was counting on the obnoxiously deep listening and analysis - that's the whole point, isn't it? Also always love listening to musicians talk about their own stuff, 12/10, no downsides to the hypothetical Andie Nighttime Music Hour(s). So there!
anon.
You've surprised me here.
I normally shut myself up after a while with folks because I know it's annoying for folks who don't care, but my best friend (thankfully) is a bit of a musician herself and she (very kindly) lets me go on about it to get it out of my system, so I'm never expecting folks to be like "yes! actually! we want to hear more about this!"
It's really funny to me, because I remember watching some of Taylor Swift's earlier behind the scenes videos, where she's singing something into her phone and sending it to a musician friend or making a recording of herself at the piano while she writes lyrics on the spot and being like—hold on a minute, I do those things when I write music. (Just ask @squidgilator, who was subjected to no less than eighteen voice memos of current songs I have on the back-burner last week lol.)
Despite knowing full well that I am not Taylor Swift and that no one is nearly as invested in my writing process as they are hers, I keep all of those little things tucked away for whenever I "eventually" start "touring" and developing a little "fan base" who wants to know everything about everything to do with my writing process. Some of that is just me being a bit too sentimental about the writing process, but some of it is me preparing for if the ~andie manifestation timeline~ matches up again and I end up doing music full time within the next four years.
All of which is to say that I am always eager to talk about my own music in nauseating detail, and if there was a better way to post snippets of songs on here without exposing myself and my legal name and all that, I'd be obnoxious about it lol.
