Can I use a chainsaw to split wood?
Chainsaws are the most important tool used for cutting the tree woods and pruning trees along with its branches. Firewood is mostly can cut by using chainsaws which are widely used by many firefighters as well. Before you start doing the cutting firewood, it is necessary to have the right type of chainsaw to get the job done effectively without any kind of issues. Also it is good to know how to split the firewood by using a chainsaw, and many people not aware that chainsaws are used in split wood.
How to split wood by using a chainsaw?
Splitting wood can be easy to cut actually with the help of chainsaw. But if you are a beginner then it would be a great task. Selecting the right type of chainsaw is the first important thing while starting work. The ideal length of chainsaw is 18 inch which is used for splitting the firewood. And if there will a bunch of tree trunks, then 20 to 24-inch saw is usually needed which is based on the thickness of the specific wood in the tree trunks.
The wood which is to be split should be chopped down at least 6 months ago, which is easy to cut when compared with dense woods. It is good to avoid dense woods which is very difficult to cut and it won’t burn easily as well as like other firewood. Usually using beech wood or ash wood would be more convenient to cut which is a light weight wood as well.
A Chainsaw would be more comfortable than wood splitter because of its availability in affordable price range. Safety is the first and foremost thing you need to note down while start cutting. Preferable to wear safety masks for eyes and ears, also it is good to have some goggles which helps to prevent any unwanted damages that occur to your any of your body parts.
