it's crazy how little the supernatural extra-media shit understands the show's characters...

like okay i don't like john but in the comics he is quite LITERALLY a mass murderer of humans... come on man that's not

and i just started reading the new ones and it OPENS with dean asking sam for his wallet to pay for shit. like PLEASE. and of course dean is such a one-dimensional play boy guy... like fanon dean is real. he's in the fucking comics and he SUCKS

also like i read a lot of the spn novels but i stopped after the one where dean is just lying to lisa constantly.... like that is NOT what was happening????

it's just really gross to me to see like these complex, interesting characters get painted with such a broad an uncareful brush....

even sam is like... such a whiny, loser in the comics. like i will grant he is whiny sometimes in canon. but like.... in the comics he is pathetic and annoying and not in the good way. it's in the way that feels like he's written by an incel who's always complaining that girls dont like nice guys.

like who are these people???? get out of my house.

but i always want to read this stuff bc what if there's little tiny good parts .... like the comic where dean runs away from john but comes back for sam.....

howdy y'all, I recently started reading the comics and particularly while reading supernatural: rising son I was like... wow holy shit I feel like I don't see enough talk about this. but then I realized. you have to buy them or go actively looking for a DC comics subscription/free trial.

so. here we are. I'm archiving some of them, and if they get taken down off archive.org, I'll still have a pdf to put somewhere else. I figured I'd make a masterlist of spn comics + resources I have!

idk if literally anyone else has been keeping up with the supernatural dynamite comics, but there is one specific detail that has been killing me ab these stupid comics

when the comic was first announced they were described as taking place "between seasons 1 and 2," which they obviously meant During either 1 or 2, but the problem with them trying to keep it vague is that the entire plots of both seasons kind of hinge on John whether hes missing or dead. of course, the first issue comes out and john is just missing, so the whole thing is inadvertently put strictly in season one, BUT THEN the Actual annoying part is that the Whole Rest of the issues so far have been pretty vague about where in the timeline they could take place which is NOT HELPED by sams goddamned hair

I am not kidding you when I say issue 1, his hair is pretty canon compliant to season one, but ALL OTHER ISSUES suddenly his big ass forehead is flaunting about, as if thats not something that only starts in like season four or five. its genuinely been driving me insane, because sams hair changes are So distinct and obvious to the point that a Lot of ppl in this fandom can identify what season a scene takes place in solely by what sams hair looks like, you Cannot do season one sam and dean without sams fuckass haircut and deans jewelry
