I'm realizing now how much pressure Jared had on spn and it really pisses me off that it seems he had more of it than he needed to. I now see Jensen didn't really pull his weight in a lot of areas. This led to a lot of his problems and now Jared is the one that was seen as having mental health problems while Jensen got to look like the more stable worker but I think Jensen just didn't do much. That's not really fair to Jared and I'm not suggesting that's the reason for some of his issues but you know that likely fed into it. Plus Jensen got to be more of a darling in execs minds because he always made Jared be the bad guy when HE was the one with the problem.

Jensen did say he'd let Jared take the brunt of the issues to the higher-ups because he was first on the call sheet. Of course, that kind of responsibility can help build character, and while it might have weighed on Jared and wasn't necessarily healthy for him, it did provide some impetus to create a much better working environment on Walker. And we can see with TW that Jensen's tendency to skate by, it didn't do him any favors when it came time for him to produce a show. So, while I feel for Jared's experience on SPN, I appreciate the life lessons he took from it.

I was just watching some Supernatural ep reactions.

Cause YouTube sucks and I can't find the Sam clips I wanted to watch.

Anyway watched an reaction for 9x01 and 11x17

And it's hard enough to find a good channel who isn't someone with shit taste (Destiel, Minion.) Or full of dumb comments.

Anyway 9x01 some clown said that Sam imagined talking with Death and that it wasn't really Death it was just Sam ego.

Then in 11x17

It was the reactor herself. She seemed like one of the good ones.

But that last bit where Dean talks with the female victim and she says about watching someone you love die.

Which of course is Sam in this case cause you know thats what the ep was about.

She said how poor Dean watched his love Asstiel became Lucifer...

Can I please get an non idiot reaction channel. Please.

supernatural is one of the only shows i can think of where the opinions of the background/extra actors are held in higher esteem than those of the lead actors. and it's bloody annoying. i don't need the guy who played random demon number four for five minutes in one episode fifteen years ago to give me his opinions on the show.

The so-called "fans" have made the furniture side actors (MC, Kim, Briana, Rob, Rich, Samantha Ferris) THINK they were as important as J2, to the point where THEY now believe, with their whole chest, that SPN was lucky to have THEM.

Fans are spreading rumors on tiktok that Misha has been mugged multiple times, has had used pads/tampons thrown at him, is being stalked by like 5 different people, and (of course) threatened with box cutters.

So if that doesn’t prove that hellers don’t do research I don’t know what will.

SPN Issues: Sexism (II)

12x23 || 13x23 || 14x20

Dabb’s been showrunner for three years now and not only has he still not made a recurring female character a series regular (while freely handing out that honour to their male colleagues), he’s also yet to give us a single finale starring the show’s currently best-developed and best-loved female character: Rowena.

In the S12 finale she was killed ignominiously off-screen.

In the S13 finale she was mentioned in a throw-away line which seemed taken straight out of badfic. Personally, I had no desire to see a badfic-like Rowena and Charlie team-up, so I’m not terribly disappointed we didn’t get to watch them interact; but it is telling that their connection was never mentioned again throughout S14. (Just like it’s telling that Mary spent most of S14 hanging out at Donna’s cabin, and yet never had any meaningful interaction with her either.) Who needs connections between female characters, right? We wouldn’t want anyone to start thinking that women aren’t completely determined by their relationships to men.

In the S14 finale we then witnessed a one-side Rowena/Sam phonecall which ended with Sam hanging up on Rowena without a goodbye and her involvement never being referred to again for the rest of the episode. When Chuck showed up with the Colt 2.0, they could have given Rowena a quick heads-up that she didn’t have to “just try” to put together a soul-bomb to take out Jack any longer. Dean had enough time to sadly sit in the shadows of his room and drink, and Sam had enough time to put us through what felt like a hundred iterations of the Pinched Diva Face of Moral Righteousness™, yet neither of them could make the time to call Rowena.

Dabb’s treatment of Rowena perfectly mirrors the Winchesters’, who constantly expect her to be at their beck and call whenever they need help without ever treating her like their equal, and who expect her not to bother them the rest of the time. And it sucks.

So here’s my wish for the show’s final finale: Let Rowena be actively and meaningfully involved in it. Thank you.

The ratings for the last two seasons have been really bad. The finales are only saved from being the lowest by the S7 finale. S8, 7, & 11 are the only premiere's with lower ratings(not counting S14). Only 3 of 46 eps had over 2 million. How do Dabb and Singer still have jobs?

If Misha & Berens really wanted to absolutely make it unambiguous that Destiel was real. Cas would have said “I’m in love with you.” And Dean’s response wouldn’t have been shock. (Which could also be the Cas suddenly talking about feelings as Death was literally at the door since the love mentioned was easily platonic) Because they would have been together previously. And it definitely wouldn’t be written in as “Dean can’t reciprocate” But they didn’t. They just gave them trash. Badly acted, horribly directed crap. And, as they knew the shippers would, they ate it up like the finest feast. “I love you” has many meanings. Heck, Cas had even said it before. Almost the same speech to all of them, in 12.12.

Exactly! It's nothing new. We already knew how Cas felt about the Winchesters. What I find especially annoying about that speech is 1. The things he said about Dean actually applied better to Sam, and 2. It contributed nothing to the story, and in fact, was antithetical to the larger storyline (and I say that loosely) that Cas was involved in.

Cas and Jack had previously been set up as parallels to Dean and Sam. Cas was told to kill Jack, but refused to in S12. Cas made a deal to give up his own life in order to save Jack in S14. If Berens (and Dabb, by extension) really cared about the story and what happened with Cas, they would have completed Cas' sacrifice story with Jack by his side.

Instead, we got pandering of the highest order towards a group of people who have proven, time and time again, that they have absolutely no understanding of basic storytelling or subtext, but who will headcanon the crap out of the smallest imagined clues, and then proclaim and harass others in their insistence that their headcanon is canon.
