1x05 Bloody Mary

OK, so i’m reading the companion guides as i rewatch the episodes and in the entry for Bloody Mary (1x05), it says:

With regards to Dean’s eyes bleeding, Kripke says, “There is something in his past -- We’ve always known it. It’s been in the core of the character from the time we created him. We will reveal it [...] People think I’m making up what the reason is, but I’m telling you I know.”

So, in Bloody Mary, Mary specifically goes after people who have a secret in their past where someone died. Did we ever find out the reason she went after Dean? Am I forgetting something obvious? Was this ever addressed by Kripke or anyone else again?

I love the head canon that the reason Sam and Dean have such bad luck is because they broke 600 mirrors in the Bloody Mary episode (1x05)
