Monster of the Week: 1x18 Something Wicked

Dr. Hydecker - Shtriga: 

Shtriga is a kind of witch. They’re Albanian, but legends about them trace back to Ancient Rome. They feed off spiritus vitae. It’s Latin, translates to ‘breath of life’. Kinda like your life force or essence. Shtrigas can feed off anyone but they prefer children. And get this. Shtrigas are ’…invulnerable to all weapons devised by God and man.’ No, that’s not right. She’s vulnerable when she feeds. If you catch her when she’s eating you can blast her with consecrated wrought iron. Buckshots or rounds I think. Shtrigas take on a human disguise when they’re not hunting. Historically, something innocuous. Could be anything, but it’s usually a feeble old woman, which might be how the witches as old crones legend got started.

Monster of the Week: 1x10 Asylum

Apparently he was experimenting on his patients, awful stuff. Makes lobotomies look like a coupla aspirin.

But it was the patients who rioted.

Yeah. They were rioting against Dr. Ellicott. Dr. Feelgood was working on some sort of, like, extreme rage therapy. He thought that if he could get his patients to vent their anger then they would be cured of it. Instead it only made them worse and worse and angrier and angrier. So I'm thinking, what if his spirit is doing the same thing? To the cop? To the kids in the seventies, making them so angry they become homicidal.... Come on, we gotta find his bones and torch ’em.

Monster of the Week: 1x07 The Hook Man/Jacob Karns

Hey, check this out. 1862. A preacher named Jacob Karns was arrested for murder. Looks like he was so angry over the red light district in town that one night he killed 13 prostitutes. Uh, right here, “some of the deceased were found in their bed, sheets soaked with blood. Others suspended upside down from the limbs of trees as a warning against sins of the flesh.” And get this, the murder weapon? Looks like the preacher lost his hand in an accident. Had it replaced with a silver hook.

Monster of the Week: 2x04 Children Shouldn’t Play with Dead Things

Zombie Angela Mason: 

Apparently they used rituals like this one for communicating with the dead. Even bringing corpses back to life. Full-on zombie action. Look, I get it. Okay? There are people that I would give anything to see again. But what gives you the right? What’s dead should stay dead! What you brought back isn’t even your daughter anymore. These things are vicious, they’re violent, they’re so nasty they rot the ground around them. I mean, come on, haven’t you seen Pet Sematary?

Monster of the Week: 2x03 Bloodlust

Vampires:

We’re not like the others. We don’t kill humans, and we don’t drink their blood. We haven’t for a long time. We have a right to live. We’re not hurting anyone. We choke on cow’s blood so that none of them suffer. Tonight they murdered Conrad and they celebrated.

Monster of the Week: 2x02 Everybody Loves a Clown

Rakshasa:

It’s a race of ancient Hindu creatures. They appear in human form, they feed on human flesh, they can make themselves invisible, and they cannot enter a home without first being invited. So they dress up like clowns, and the children invite ‘em in.
