He knew he was lying, he knew it would happen again, it always did, but she knew it too, and he supposed that was why it hurt. He was used to lying, he was a demon after all, his entire way to the top was telling people what they wanted to hear. But, stupidly, he actually cared for Ginny, and her knowing he was lying about this hurt more than anything else he could remember.
He wraps his arms around her waist as hers go around his neck, careful to not press on any bruises or hold her too tightly. He supposed this was going to be how it happened anyway, it always was. “I’m so fucking sorry,” he whispers to her knowing it was just a matter of time before it happened again.
She winced, but not the pain, oddly enough it was the apology. She didn't want to keep hearing it, but adding the cursing... she wasn't a fan. She shook her head and pulled away from him to look him in the eyes.
It was strange, what she saw, there was a genuine meaning behind his apology, but she knew this wasn't the last time, it was like he wanted it to be, but they both knew it wouldn't stop today. She should have known better than to get involved with someone who didn't know how to give up control. But, no, she had to slip in his life, and somehow they got more serious. Maybe it was the fact that she was so simply human, and he didn't know how to not take it too far. She wasn't sure, but she knew she was in no mindset to walk away.
"I'm not mad. I know you are." She looked into his eyes "Let's just-- let's just forget it okay?" Talking about it, thinking about it; there was too much to worry about and at least this she could put away. It didn't matter. Right?
