What are the top 10 anguished Spock expressions?
That’s a very good question that probably requires a better answer, but I think this post is a good place to find most of them.

What are the top 10 anguished Spock expressions?
That’s a very good question that probably requires a better answer, but I think this post is a good place to find most of them.
Back on January 30, we were watching Star Trek, like you do. And Spock’s ears needed covering, again. And I suddenly realized that for once, the hat was actually interesting. So I took some cellphone photos of the TV and then spent three weeks scribbling, swatching, and teaching myself how to design a hat. And then knitting more-or-less the same 12-to-14-row panel pattern about a billion times.
The first test run (shown pre-blocking, but I can tell most of the issues won’t block out) isn’t quite there yet. But it’s surprisingly close.
I’m thinking of calling it “Thread and Circulars”.
I feel like I accidentally designed the Adult Small version of this hat, instead of the Adult Medium needed to actually fit my head without stretching out the seed stitch. But I also feel like it’s finally close enough to ask whether anyone else wants to test-knit. Especially someone whose head is not approximately 22″ around, because I have no small skulls available to test the fit on (not sure what I’m going to do with this hat...). And while I do have a large skull to hand, A) I don’t have enough yarn right now to knit that hat if I also want my own medium, and B) the skull’s owner may have other plans for it.
So who wants to test-knit Thread and Circulars? Note that I’m about to reblog with a bunch of important considerations that should be read before anyone volunteers!
And in case this post happens to blow up a year from now, I am posting this on February 26, 2019. I will put this initial call out until let’s say March 6, 2019. After that, if I want additional testing (or didn’t get enough takers -- hoping for 5-8), I may post again.

"the child was named leonard james aka'ar?"
"has a kind of a ring to it, don't you think, james?"
"yes, i think it's a name destined to go down in galactic history, leonard. what do you think, spock?"
"i think you're both going to be insufferably pleased with yourselves for at least a month!"
I'M CRYING OH MY GOD
If you took out all the dramatic, close-up shots of individual faces on the original Star Trek, each episode would be approximately twelve minutes long.
