Best advice I’ve ever gotten

Backstory: I volunteer for a street theater festival, and there was an act called the Burnt Out Punks. Their act was centered around fire and I was one of the fire safety people. The presenter was doing his makeup and it was fantastic, so naturally I complimented him but I also said something like “ why is everyone better than me at makeup?” To which he replied, and I quote;

“Practice, darling, practice. And fuck a lot of makeup artists.”

I cried. It was the best thing I had ever heard.
