Having some extra time to himself, Ian decides to pop back into New York so he could actually have a chance to go to the Met and see the exhibits that they might have. The mutant orbed from his home in Sussex and moments later he reappeared just outside the doors of the building. Of course he then realized that the place was closing in five minutes—which would not allow sufficient amount of time for him to view everything to his leisure. He figured that since he made it all the way over here he might as well enjoy something, so he walked the down fifth avenue with no real destination in mind.
While he was enjoying the sights of dusk in The Big Apple there seemed to be some kind of blockade of police cars lined up on the street and some uniformed officers deterring pedestrians from going further. Naturally Ian got curious since this has to not be a normal occurrence, but of course when he approached the front of the crowd the officer told him it’s not safe to pass. “What’s happening?” he asked the officer, to which she told him frankly that there was a robbery in progress and they were handling the situation. “No, offense but it doesn’t seem like you lot are doing that.” She reassured him that they are doing the best they can to make sure everything will turn out okay. Ian knew that he had to do something the help them. The way he saw it, him being there could prevent any real casualties from happening. With a snap of his fingers and a bit of concentration Ian’s clothes shift from his civilian clothes to his hero uniform. The few pedestrians near him and the officer herself were astounded by the sudden transformation, but of course she felt compelled to let him pass.
Ian was waved over by the person in charge and briefed about the actual situation—that there is a robbery taking place but a few people were unable to escape. The robbers have them being held hostage and refuse to speak with their negotiator on trying to release someone as a sign of good faith. The witchlighter gulped when he realizes the severity of the situation. He’s never really come across this kind of stuff before and the whole superhero thing is still pretty new to him. While he attempts to come up with a plan it seems like there’s another costumed hero that came onto the scene. Thank goodness. He doesn’t have to do this alone.
“Did you hear about this too?” he asked the masked gentleman.
