Cranksgiving 2013

This past Saturday was the first annual Savannah Cranksgiving Ride with the SpokeModels! What is Cranksgiving, you ask? Well, it’s partially a bike ride, partially a food drive and completely a good way to spend an afternoon!  Partnering with Emmaus House, SpokeModels and the Savannah Bicycle Campaign helped feed hungry people this holiday season. Emmaus House has provided food for the hungry in Savannah since 1982, serving breakfast every weekday morning for those who need it. This charitable organization helps the homeless and near homeless of Savannah on a daily basis. If you are interested in helping them, please contact them at [email protected] or 912.495.8828.

SpokeModels Office Hours

Have questions or concerns about bikes? Want to hang out? Come to the SpokeModels office hours tonight at 7:30pm at Foxy Loxy! We can talk about bikes or we can talk about the beyond terrible movie, Dinner with an Assassin.

The online Smart Cycling program is designed to develop your knowledge of bicycling safety by using lessons, interactive components and videos. Here you will learn about the different types of bikes and bicycling gear. You will learn techniques for improving your ride, your rights as a bicyclist and how to ride safely on the road.

These videos are a great resource for beginning cyclists, or anyone looking for more information on a particular topic (like where’s the best place to ride in traffic or how to fit a helmet).

Have questions? Want to hang out? Come to Foxy Loxy tonight at 7:30p.m. for the SpokeModels office hours. We can discuss bikes or unpack your emotions about the Red Wedding or talk about anything else on your mind!

SpokeModels Office Hours

SpokeModels Office Hours will take place at the Dollar Monday Sand Gnats game tonight, leaving by bike from Forsyth Park at 6:30. If the game gets rained, look for us at Foxy Loxy at 7:30 instead!

Come to Savannah Play Streets this Sunday for fun, but stay for the challenge of a life time: can you commute faster than a bus? A car? The biker next to you?
