Summary: Two years passed before Hikaru admitted, reluctantly, that possession by a spirit seemed to have long-lasting side effects which probably wouldn’t go away on their own.
#lesenfantssontlesmeilleursguidesspiritiuels #spontaneite #elancreateur #lacherprise #poesie #creativite #ecrire #processuscreatif https://www.instagram.com/p/B1jRhPiHOih/?igshid=1chs2rx54mqo
Summary: Before the Diamonds, and before the Kindergartens, Gems had to come from somewhere. This turns out to be far more relevant to Stevonnie's existence, and Steven and Connie's lives, than they ever would have anticipated. Now capable of fusion, Steven joins the Crystal Gems in scraping for the remnants of Gemkind's long-forgotten heritage, and unlocking the mysteries his mother left behind.
(Generations of modification and totalitarian control have stripped away culture, strength, and many intrinsic abilities from Gemkind - but in spite of it all, fusion remains.)

I’ve never read anything dive into the fusion mindset of Stevonnie like this! the worldbuilding and psychology of Gems is absolutely amazing

SPEAKING OF GOOD SUPERNATURAL BASED HIKARU NO GO FICS. PLEASE READ THIS ONE. @tenspontaneite is the delightful author, and honestly puts so much thought and love into every chapter....it’s so good. Also, go to their tumblr for the most recent chapter, I believe it’s unbeta’d there, but LOL I do not give a damn. Paper Cranes explores all the supernatural. Holy fuck. It’s traumatizing and good and Hikaru makes all the bad decisions and I love it. It’s just GOOD SHIT.

tagged by @werewolves-are-real ages ago but I didn’t access tumblr on a computer until now so. Also putting this on this blog because it feels too rebloggy to belong on my main.
1. Which book has been on your shelves the longest?
Watership Down, maybe. Loved it as a kid, still love it now. That’s one tattered book now, especially since I think I originally got it at a car boot sale.
2. What is your current read, your last read and the book you’ll read next?
As far as actual books go, I’m reading a non-fiction about auditory hallucination and voice-hearing called Can’t You Hear Them?. Before that was a reread of the Inheritance Cycle over a week in Christmas, and next I’m probably either going to reread Uprooted or Wolf Within (latter being another non-fiction, this time about a northern guy who writes about how he went to live with wild wolves for a year as One Of Them. Heavily recommend both books.)
3. Which book does everyone like and you hated?
...honestly I don’t read many real books to begin with anymore, it’s mainly fanfiction since I discovered fanfiction twelve years ago. There’s plenty of classics that i find boring, but I don’t generally read things for the hype. I’ll have to put a solid IDK for this question.
4. Which book do you keep telling yourself you’ll read, but you probably won’t?
Er. None. There’s plenty i’ve been meaning to read and haven’t. But I will read it eventually. all of it.
5. Which book are you saving for “retirement?”
Silmarillion, maybe.
6. Last page: read it first or wait till the end?
I....may have last page skipped as a child, I won’t put it out of the realm of possibility, but I don’t tangibly remember it.Generally not a thing I do.
7. Acknowledgements: waste of ink and paper or interesting aside?
Skip past, generally. i’m there for the book. If it impresses me, then I may potentially start to care about acknowledgements.
8. Which book character would you switch places with?
Well, nothing specific, but anywhere I could Fly, Shapeshift (possibly with Flying), or have a Dragon Friend would be good.
9. Do you have a book that reminds you of something specific in your life (a person, a place, a time)?
Probably, but can’t remember it right now
10. Name a book you acquired in some interesting way.
....well, aside from the many books obtained from boot sales, I’m pretty sure a couple items from my old-old library may have accidentally been liberated from my primary school bookshelves. Like one of the Farthing Wood books, maybe.
11. Have you ever given away a book for a special reason to a special person?
I gave my dad my first copy of Uprooted because I thought he’d like it. I got myself another copy later though.
12. Which book has been with you to the most places?
Watership Down, probably. I distinctly remember reading it in Egypt once. If you count digital copies I’ve probably read it in France, Argentina, and naturally the UK as well.
13. Any “required reading” you hated in high school that wasn’t so bad ten years later?
I’m still a good three or four years away from being able to answer that question. But, eh….poetry? I guess? I’ve kept my A-level poetry anthology with me and occasionally nod approvingly over the Tennyson and Browning in it.
14. What is the strangest item you’ve ever found in a book?
A sheet of glittery stickers.
15. Used or brand new?
I prefer new, but I have a long history of adopting old pre-owned books.
16. Stephen King: Literary genius or opiate of the masses?
Honestly I’ve only sort-of read Stephen King books. I was much more widely-read before I discovered fanfiction, and at that age King was a bit old for me.
17. Have you ever seen a movie you liked better than the book?
The original 1989 BFG, maybe. Book version is gorgeous but Original BFG is a thing of great childhood nostalgia and very fond memories. I love it to pieces. Remake is nice but doesn’t have the same kind of magic.
18. Conversely, which book should NEVER have been introduced to celluloid?
I have to agree with @werewolves-are-real on this one. Eragon as a movie had pretty dragon, sure, but my god there’s nothing else good to say about it.
19. Have you ever read a book that’s made you hungry, cookbooks being excluded from this question?
The Pellinor cycle. Amazing descriptions of food. The mushrooms bit in the first book stands out in particular.
20. Who is the person whose book advice you’ll always take?
I am picky and while I’ll usually glance at a rec if someone gives it to me, 9 times out of 10 I immediately discard it. That said, there are people whose tastes I trust and I will hear out more seriously. And when it comes to fanfiction there’s some authors whose favourites/bookmarks I check fairly often.
I’m not going to tag anyone because that makes me uncomfortable, but if you want to do this thing, do it!
