What is Remix? Remix uses pre-exiting materials to transform the initial messages and meanings into a individual creation. Sidenote: Remix's do not necessarily include messages or meanings. Under a fair usage legal standpoint, effectively all available media can and should be included as tools for remix creation. But is it important? As an individual art form, remix language strays far too close to that of film i.e. montage and editing stylistic choices to be considered a "important" or invaluable medium. But on the forefront of fair usage and internet activism, remix should be considered on the front-lines of copyright usage and digital distribution.
