Spooky Tricks, 1968, by Rose Wyler and Gerald Ames.

When my sisters and I were little, we looked at this book A TON. We all had our favorite tricks, and we’d practice them and put on a show for our mom. It was a ton of fun, but I do feel bad for whoever had to endure the unique form of torture of watching two five-year-olds and a seven-year-old perform magic tricks that were less than astounding. I remember trying to do the combing-the-pet trick to see sparks, but alas, our little dachshund had short fur, so... no sparks.

Anywho, the illustrations are pretty cool, and some are kind of creepy. Like the kid with all the holes. What kid floats around the sky wearing a bow tie???

Spooky tricks include stopping your pulse by squeezing a rag in your armpit while saying "Now I am dead" & hiding a carrot under a handkerchief and stabbing pins into your "thumb"
