1: Sexuality headcanon - basically straight, I think, which makes him unusual for one of my fictional crushes. Normally I queer the hell out of everyone, but I’ve just never got that vibe.
2: OTP - I love the idea of Hannah the housemaid, but we know so little about her she basically becomes an OC (or worse, a self-insert). Otherwise I am total post-canon WinterMass trash, even though I know it a) makes no sense, and b) is problematic af for a raft of reasons. Partly I’m smushing my two faves together, partly because the opportunity for comedy is delightful.
3: BroTP - I find the idea of sweet, idealistic, Segundus trying to work with sarcastic, cynical Childermass to restore magic to England highly amusing in an Aziraphale and Crowley sort of way. It works because I think Segundus is determined enough that he would, eventually, give as good as he got, and Childermass is (although he’d deny it) kind enough that the banter and snark would never become cruel.
4: NoTP - Norrell, because the canon dynamic (the TV one, at least) reminds me waaaay to much of me and my housemate.
5: First headcanon that pops into my head - Although Childermass is generally not sentimental about animals, and Brewer is a working animal, he does regard the daft donkey with affection. He bought Brewer as a colt, for a pittance from a farmer who regarded the horse as unbreakable and only suitable for the glue factory. It’s not so much that Childermass broke Brewer inasmuch as the they came to an agreement.
6: Favorite line from this character - “I am a North Englishman, Mr. Lascelles,” said Childermass. “Nothing would please me better than that my King should come home. It is what I have wished for all my life.” I wanted to pick something funny and snarky, but this line gives me the chills every time, and I wholeheartedly blame Enzo Cilenti for that.
7: One way in which I relate to this character - other than being a grumpy, sarky Northener? Probably the tendency to be loyal to a fault.
8: Thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character - The unlikely milliner/ crap spy incident. What was that all about, bb?
9: Cinnamon roll or problematic fave - Secret cinnamon roll? Like, I don’t think he has any pretensions of being a nice person, but when you look at what he does under his own agency, he’s a kind person who clearly cares more about others than Norrell or book!Strange. Case in point, going behind Norrell’s back to get Lady Pole sent somewhere where she’d be properly looked after, despite the fact she’d just shot him.

because in the states, college students are allowed to be on our parent’s plans until we’re 26 so I feel like she could be pulling her “if I tell her I‘m kicking her out then maybe she’ll understand how SERIOUS things are” but also like. I’m leaving this god forsaken country in a year to live in the UK with Owen and do my masters so telling me I could possibly die before I’m 24 unless I “find a full time job” is ridiculous
