Hello! I will be hosting a new October themed writing event! SPOOKY SIDES WEEK!
Hello! This is the first year of Spooky Sides Week! This is going to be an October themed writing event! Anyone is welcome to write!
Here are the spooky prompts for this year:
Day 1 (Oct 21st): Vampire
Day 2 (Oct 22nd): Experiment
Day 3 (Oct 23rd): Werewolf
Day 4 (Oct 24th): Haunted Forest
Day 5 (Oct 25th): Costume
Day 6 (Oct 26th): Candy
Day 7 (Oct 27th): Black Cat
Alternative Prompts: Witches, Pumpkin, Party
(Fun Fact: October 27th is National Black Cat day! If you only have time to complete one prompt, then I encourage you to do the black cat one! I just think it's cute :D)

Event Rules:
1.) Submissions can be: Fanfic, Fanart, Playlists, Mood-boards, Cosplays, etc. If you have a different mode of participation, but are unsure if you can participate, then just ask and I'll answer!
2.) To encourage participation from all fanders, this blog will be SFW. However, if there is a lot of interest in people wanting to create NSFW content, then I am open to making a separate blog dedicated to NSFW works.
What qualifies as NSFW? Sexual content; graphic descriptions of assault. Innuendos and gore/violence, in my opinion, does not count as NSFW, but if you're uncertain, then please ask!
3.) When submitting your blogs, please use the tag: #spookysidesweek2026 This will make it easier for me to find and reblog all content! Please also tag me (@spookysidesweek).
4.) For written content, I will make an AO3 collection for y'all to post into! When I have that created, I will leave a link :) Posting in this collection is not required, but will be much appreciated!
5.) Please make sure that you add appropriate trigger and content warnings to your works.
6.) You don't have to create for every prompt! The alternate prompts are there to replace any prompts that you're not interested in :)
7.) What if you can't post on time? That's okay! Even after the event concludes, I will look for new submissions for up to a week afterwards. If you're unable to get it done within that grace period, then just let me know and we can go from there!
8.) Have fun! These prompts are here to provide inspiration, but if you're struggling don't sweat it!
9.) The event will be taking place from October 21st- October 27th.
From the depths of dark, shadowy forests witches and wolves begin to stir for they can feel a chill starting to taint the air.
Vampires rise, hungering for a bleeding heart to quince their thirst.
Spiders hiss, weaving webs that can capture anyone who dares stumble too close.
All around, as the season of warmth dies, monsters get ready… they shiver with anticipation as October creeps nearer…
But what do they want? These spiders, ghosts, ghouls, and many other foul beasts?
THEY YEARN FOR THE FANFICTION!!!
THEY YEARN FOR SANDERS SIDES!!!
THEY YEARN FOR THE ROMANCE, THE ANGST, THE SPOOKS!!!
Don’t forget, Spooky Sides Week starts on October 21st! So grab your creativity caps, turn on a spooky playlist, and get to writing!!! Or drawing!! Or editing! Because I am a monster, and I, too, yearn for the romance! The Angst! And most importantly, THE SPOOKS!!!
