The first alchemist fairy

It was a fresh autumn afternoon when Queen Clarion flew among the trees, heading back to the Home tree. She came from a visit to the Summer Madow, where fairies were already enjoying their free time after summer had finished and autumn was being delivered. She fluttered absent-minded, thinking about a proposal from some fairies, who wanted to celebrate some spooky autumn party which apparently Clumsies loved. Ree was still pondering about it when she heard a loud crack and inmediately saw a coloured cloud coming from a fairy house above her. A few crumbs of green, pink and blue pixie dust fell in her hair.

Of course. She was right in front of Zarina’s house, and it seemed that she was in the middle of one of her experiments, although maybe it needed some adjusting. Ree approached the little house and knocked. She was curious to see what was it that Zarina was creating today.

Knoxie was upside down, glowing a bright curious blue. She had been watching a winged faerie walk around for a while and finally asked "Why are you walking? You're wasting your wings! Are they deformed? They don't look like they are."

Sleep was a suggestion at best. One that the dust keeper often ignored when it came down to it. She didn’t exactly have friends to spend time with or much of a social life outside of work, so she never truly complained. A little lack of sleep would be worth it if she was successful with her experiments.

But so far? She had been anything but.

The dust keeper yawned, amber eyes fluttering open. “…huhzawhat?” Sleepily slurred the fairy, rising from her position on Terence’s lap. She hadn’t even realized she had fallen asleep. “T…Terence?” She whispered, swaying slightly as she sat up. “Mmm sorry, did I fall asleep?”

"Yeah, Z. Just for a while," he answered, already missing the warmth of her as she left his lap. He crossed his arms over his chest, almost holding himself--it was chilly, okay?--and added, "I didn't want to wake you, you really needed the sleep."

He knew she wouldn't ungrudging accept sleep as long as there were experiments to be held and discoveries to be made, which was...pretty much, forever. As long as she could get a few moments in here and there, he wasn't about to stop her. He didn't mention that he also simply hadn't minded her laying on him like that.

After all the times during their short association that Zarina had surprised Riku, out of "play" she claimed, it was time for a little revenge. In the trees he waited for the fairy woman to pass, hiding in the crook of a branch until she was in exactly the right spot... He came down from his hiding hole with his head low enough to be face-to-face.

"...!"

However, though his idea had been to make the girl jump he miscalculated when he should drop his head down. Long, silver tendrils hung like a curtain as he stared at the woman's neck with mild surprise and their lips just barely pecked. He pulled back as soon as it happened and offered her a deep frown, still hanging from the branch.
